Louise Dale

WIDE RUINS — Services for Louise Dale, 95, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at St. Anne’s Catholic Mission, Klagetoh. The Rev. Flann O’Neil, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Wide Ruins. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Dale died Jan. 17, 2009, in Phoenix. She was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Klagetoh, into the Red Running Into Water Division People Clan for the Zuni People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Dale attended St. Michael’s Catholic School up to 3rd grade, and Fort Apache Boarding School up to 8th grade. She was a homemaker, and rug weaver. She was a member at Klagetoh Catholic Church. Her hobbies included sewing, making quilts and sash belts.

Survivors include her daughters, Nora J. Zale, Nellie D. Kee, Lillie R. Miller; brother, Johnnie Capizonie; sister, Louise Etsitty, Mary Lee Tom.

Dale was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Dale; sons, Steven Dale Sr., Bennie Dale, Jimmie Dale, Richard Dale.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Dale, Harvey Dale, Steven Dale Jr., Elroy Dale, Elvecchio Dale, El-Dee Dale.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Chapter House, following services.

Hugh Manygoats Sr.

NAVAJO — Funeral services for Hugh Manygoats Sr., 75, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at Mary Moth of Mankind Catholic Church, St. Michaels. The Rev. Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate.

Manygoats died Jan. 18, 2009, in Gallup. He was born June 7, 1933, in Tall Mountain, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Manygoats worked with NFPI for 35 years as a Master Lumber grader, medicine man, and gardener. He enjoyed old Western movies and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Manygoats; sons, Emerson Manygoats, Darrell Manygoats, Michael Manygoats, Jymerson Manygoats, Derrick Manygoats; daughters, Laverne Manygoats, Valerie M. Tso, Velma Manygoats, Elma Manygoats, Alvina Manygoats, Marcella Manygoats; brothers, Leonard Seaton, Jimmy Seaton, Lawrence Seaton, Roger Seaton; sisters, Lillie Manygoats, Betty Boone, Pearl Seaton, Maria Seaton, Joann Seaton; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Manygoats was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Seaton; mother, Alice Manygoats; son, Hugh Manygoats Jr.; brothers, Herman Seaton, Delmar Seaton; one granddaughter.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
