Cordell Cleveland
GRANTS Services for Cordell Cleveland, 19, will be at
10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at Compassion Mortuary. The Rev.
Jake Delgarito will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial
Park.
Cleveland died Feb. 7, 2009 in Casamero Lake, N.M. He was born
April 29, 1989 in Crownpoint.
Cleveland was a student at Job Corps in Albuquerque at the time
of his death.
Survivors include his parents Rosita Wilson and Bobby Cleveland,
both of Casamero Lake; brothers Curby Cleveland and Nathaniel
Cleveland, both of Casamero Lake; sisters Shandeen Cleveland,
Micayla Cleveland, both of Casamero Lake; grandparents Etta Wilson
of Wide Ruins, Ariz., Phillip and Etta Cleveland, of Casamero
Lake.
Pallbearers will be Lemuel Wilson Jr., Lane Charley, Patrick
Largo, Archie Cleveland, Tyson Bebo and Alvin Yazzie.

Ralph Escamilla
ALBUQUERQUE Memorial Services for Ralph Escamilla, 51,
at 9 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 15 at St. Francis Church in Gallup.
Burial will follow in the city cemetery.
Escamilla died Dec. 14, 2008 in Albuquerque. He was born April
4, 1956 in Gallup.
Survivors include his sons Ralph Escamilla Jr. and Johnathon
Escamilla; parents Frances Escamilla; brothers Andrew Escamilla
of Gallup, Paul Escamilla of Huntington Park, Calif., Ronald Escamilla,
Johnny Escamilla, Abel Escamilla, all of Albuquerque; sister Lorraine
Escamilla of Albuquerque and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Escamilla Sr.; sister
Mary Lou Escamilla Mares; grandparents Flora Soto and Policarpio
Escamilla.
Mary Fidel
GRANTS Memorial Rosary and Mass for Mariam Maria Fidel,
83, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 14 at St. Teresa of Avila
Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate.
Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Cemetery.
Fidel died Feb. 5, 2009 in Gallup. She was born March 7, 1925
in San Fidel.
Survivors include her brother Sen. Joseph Fidel.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Fidel
Sr., and brother A.H. Fidel Jr.
She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Teresa Catholic
Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Franciscan Third
Order when it was in existence. She also worked at Grants State
Bank.

Howard Joe
HOUCK, Ariz Services for Howard Joe, 59, will be at 10
a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at the Bethel Assembly of God
in Houck. The Rev. Jay Yonnie will officiate. Burial will follow
at the Houck community cemetery.
Joe died Feb. 8, 2009 in Houck. He was born Dec. 12, 1949 in
Fort Defiance into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitter
Water People Clan.
Joe worked in forestry and he enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his wife Arlene Y. Joe; sons Ervin Joe, Randy
Joe, Arnold Joe, Darren Russell; daughters Sharon Pinto, Marlena
Joe.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Joe; brother
David Joe; father, Ben Gorman.
Pallbearers will be Martin Yazzie, Darren Russell, Darryle Ashley,
Johnny Todakozie, Martin Yazzie and Victor Villarreal.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bethel Assembly
of God Church in Houck.

Andrew Mitchell
FORT WINGATE Services for Andrew Mitchell, 55, will be
at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at the Wingate Baptist Church.
The Rev. Eddie Gooden will officiate. Burial will follow in Fort
Wingate.
Mitchell died Feb. 8, 2009 in Fort Wingate. He was born June
4, 1953 in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include his wife Cora Mitchell of Fort Wingate; son
Donovan Mitchell of Fort Wingate; sister Kathie McMillen of Phoenix
and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Lula M. Mitchell;
brother Ernest Mitchell Jr.; sisters Antoinette Mitchell and Mariam
Mitchell.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wingate Baptist
Church after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Leander Leo Zah
NAVAJO, N.M. Services for Leander Leo Allen
Zah, 37, will be at 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at the House
of Prayer in Navajo, N.M. Burial will follow in Red Lake, Ariz.
Zah died Feb.1, 2009 in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 31, 1971
in Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan.
Zah graduated from Rehoboth Christian School, where he played
basketball and was on the yearbook staff. He was a Boy Scout and
enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and listening to music. He always
smiled and had a sense of humor.
Survivors include his brother Julius Zah of Navajo; sisters Valencia
Zah of Albuquerque, Charlene Begaye, Gerilyn Begaye, Gilberita
Begaye, all of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lavern Zah; grandparents
Lena Roger Zah, Kee Tsosie Zah.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Tsosie, Austin Wauneka, Ortega Wauneka
and James Perry.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the House of
Prayer following the services.
