Louise Baker

SUMMITT, Ariz. — Services for Louise B. Baker, 80, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, at United Methodist Church, Window Rock. The Rev. Patterson Curley will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Kinlichee.

Baker died March 13, 2009, in Fort Defiance. She was born July 4, 1948, in Kinlichee, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Baker was a rug weaver for many years. She worked as a housekeeper for Tribal officials and doctors, Navajo Tribe/Ceta Program at Fort Defiance PHS Hospital, Navajo Tribal Police Academy as an assistant cook and retired in 1985.

Survivors include her son, Benson Morgan; daughters, Eunice Tso of Summitt, Bertha Paul, Susan Terry, both of Phoenix; 30 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Morgan; sons, Spencer Morgan, Robert Morgan, Norman Morgan, Edwin Morgan; daughter, Rita Morgan; two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Benson Morgan Jr., Benson Morgan Sr., Justin Wilson III, Kenneth Wayne Terry Jr., Donovan Wilson, Vernon Morgan.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Kinlichee Chapter House, following services.

Elizabeth Noche

ACOMITA — Traditional Wake and burial for Elizabeth V. Noche, 77, was Monday, March 8.
Noche died March 7, 2009, in Acomita. She was born June 24, 1931.

Noche was loved for her loving, generous heart and happy smile.

Survivors include her children, Robert, Dolly, Berlinda, Gerald, Beverly, Victor, Chandler; brother, Paul; sisters, Daisy, Ida, Pearl, Rebecca; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Wilson Shay

UPROOTED TREE — Funeral services for Wilson Shay, 49, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. The Rev. Joe M. Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Shay died March 14, 2009, in Uprooted Tree. He was born Sept. 19, 1959, in White Water, into the Meadow People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Shay attended Crownpoint Elementary, Pine Hill and Gallup High School. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad and enjoyed being with friends and family and outdoors. He was always friendly and ready to assist in anything.

Survivors include his brothers, Roy Shay, Louie Shay, Tim Shay, Chavez Shay; sisters, Mary Shay, Alyce Shay, Carolyn Shay; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Shay was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Shay; mother, Juanita H. Shay; brothers, Dennis Shay, Paul J. Shay; sister, Betty Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Louie Shay, William Shay, Chavez Shay, Lucas Shay, Avery John, Ellery John, Tim Shay, Richard Smith Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Shay’s residence, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Shane Smith

ST. MICHAELS — Services for Shane Donovan Smith, 20, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Smith died March 14, 2009, in Fort Defiance. He was born March 23, 1989, in Gallup, into the Meadow People Clan for the Apache People Clan.

Smith was a resident of St. Michael’s special education, handicapped school.

Survivors include his parents, Nathaniel and Juanita Elote of Gallup; brother, Athan Ray Elote of Coyote Canyon.

Pallbearers will be Shylo Yazize, Randy Charles, Ryan Begay, Nathaniel Elote, Faron Nelson, Stevie McCray.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Michaels Special Education cafeteria, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Brian Store

FORT DEFIANCE — Services for Brian James “BJ” Store, 33, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, at Leupp Presbyterian Church, Leupp. The Rev. Calvin Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in Old Leupp Cemetery.

Store died March 13, 2009. He was born Nov. 26, 1975, in Fort Defiance, into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Survivors include his common-law wife, Emmeline Benton of Birdsprings; daughters, Erika Nizhoni Store, Savannah Ella Store; parents, Jim and Helen Store of Leupp; sisters, Pauline Butler, Renita McCabe, both of Leupp, Charmaine Store of Flagstaff, Melissa Store of Phoenix; brother, Nolan J. Store of Flagstaff.
