Raising the Roof: TOP: City employees and contractors work
to get sandbags loaded onto a large forklift as crews work to secure
the roof. No one was injured and the cost of the damage has not
been determined yet. Despite the roof damage the swimming pool remained
open on Wednesday. BELOW: Although it does not take a meteorologist
to know it was windy in Gallup on Wednesday, city employees were
still surprised when the wind tore up a section of the Gallup Aquatic
Center's roof and sent debris out onto Boardman Avenue. [Photos

Gone With The Wind: Jack Duckett Sr. checks to make sure
his trampoline will not get blown away again and cause more damage
to his pickup at his home in Indian Hills on Wednesday afternoon.
Duckett walked outside Wednesday morning to discover the trampoline
he purchased for his grandkids had blown out of his front yard,
clearing a 4-foot high fence and landing on his pickup. The 20-foot
wide trampoline weighs about 300 pounds but managed to take flight
from the extremely strong winds that hit Gallup and the surrounding
area on Wednesday. [Photo by Matt Hinshaw/Independent]
