Bowman, 95.
Bowman died June 10, 2008, in Tohatchi. She
was born June 5, 1913, in Tohatchi, into the Honey Comb People
Clan for the Mexican People Clan.
A rosary will be recited 5 p.m. on Friday, June
13.

Elsa Curley
FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services for Elsa
J. Curley, 58, will be 10 a.m. June 13, at the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-days Saints, Crystal. Burial will be in family
plot, Crystal. Visitation will be 9 a.m. June 13, before services.
Curley died June 6, 2008, in Fort Defiance.
She was born April 10, 1950, in Farmington.
Survivors include her husband, Richard M. Curley;
daughters, Rachel M. Curley, Dawn J. Sherman; brothers, Glen Jim,
Kenneth Jim, Larry Jim; sisters, Ann Coleman, Doris Montoya, Elsie
Hatch, Dorothy Garcia, Laverne Lasater.
Curley was preceded in death by his parents,
Joe Jim, Ora Begay Jim; brother, Sam Jim.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at Curleys residence, Crystal.

Bessie Denetdale
BUFFALO SPRINGS Funeral services for
Bessie Rose Denetdale, 84, will be 10 a.m. June 13, at the St.
Marys Catholic Church, Tohatchi. The Rev. Joe Redinbo, OFM,
will officiate. Burial will be in Tohatchi. Visitation will be
at Rollie Mortuary, 6 p.m. June 12. A rosary will be recited at
6 p.m. June 12, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup.
Denetdale died June 9, 2008, in Gallup. She
was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Buffalo Springs, into the Tangle People
Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Denetdale was a member of the Senior Center
of Tohatchi Chapter. She was a rug weaver and rancher. She enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren, children and friends/relatives.
Survivors include her sons, Craig T. Denetdale
of Albuquerque, Thomas Denetdale of Phoenix; daughters, Ella Denetdale
of Tohatchi, Bertha Bitsie of Tohatchi, Darlene Denetdale, Juanita
Denetdale, Jennie Denetdale, Theresa Denetdale, Jeanette Denetdale,
all of Buffalo Springs; brothers, Ernest Destea Sr. of Naschitti,
Billy Destea Sr. of Tohatchi, Robert Destea Sr. of Navajo, Alfred
Destea, Elwood Yazzie of Buffalo Springs; sister, Irene Destea
of Buffalo Springs; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Denetdale was preceded in death by her husband,
Tom Denstdale; mother, Elsie Jean Yazzie; father, Carl Ben Yazzie;
brother, William Destea Sr.; sister, Betty Detedale.
Pallbearers will be Craig T. Denetdale, Ignacio
Costillo, Thomas Denetdale, Todd J. Bitsie, Oscar Destea, Lloyd
Bitsie.

Marcelino Gomez
GALLUP Memorial services for Marcelino
(Jackie) Gregorio Gomez, 88, will be 1 p.m. June 13, at the East
Aztec Baptist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Gene Turk will officiate.
Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Gomez died June 9, 2008, in Gallup. He was born
July 18, 1919, in Gibson.
Gomez was educated in Gallup. He joined in the
U.S. Navy from 1942-1945, as a Machinist Mate on the USS Otus,
he was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office, Gallup. He retired in
1977 and worked at Indian Jewelry Supply Industry. He retired
from Indian Jewelers Supply at the age of 84.He was affiliated
with Gallup Little League and Babe Ruth as umpire and president
of the leagues. He was a member and chairman of Gallup Public
Housing Authority and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and
the American GI Forum. He was a Bowling-1958 City Doubles Champion.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine S. Gomez
of Gallup; sons, Edward Gomez of Arlington, Va., Marcelino R.
Gomez of Gallup; daughter, Catherine Whitlock of Farmington; brothers,
Gustaro Gomez of Gallup; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Gomez was preceded in death by his father, Vicente
Gomez; mother, Altagracia Lomas Gomez; brother, Romen Gomez, Juvenal
Gomez; sisters, Mercedes Lopez Baca, Modesta Gomez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at East Aztec Baptist
Church, following services.

Harry Jake
PREWITT Funeral services for Harry Jake,
70, will be 10 a.m. June 13, at the Assembly of God Church, Prewitt.
Ruth Droll will officiate.
Jake died June 7, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was
born April 14, 1941, in Prewitt, into the Red Streak People Clan
for the Salt People Clan..
Jake attended school at the Third Nevada back
then it was called 5 year special and completed 2 years. He worked
in Rhode Island with Burlington Railroad, nursery farmer, sheep
herding in early days and started silversmithing in 1970s. His
hobbies included being with family, fishing, camping, hunting
outdoor, cookouts, cruising Bluewater Lake and loved to watch
sports. He also liked to get family and friends together for baseball,
volleyball, and turkey shooting.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Jake of Prewitt;
daughters, Marlene Begay of Thoreau, Darlene Frank of Thoreau;
brothers, Casuse Jake of Prewitt, Johnny Jake Sr., of Grants,
Amos Jake of Sundance/ Gallup, Lewis Jake of Thoreau; sister,
Anna Cook of Prewitt; 13 grandchildren.
Jake was preceded in death by his father, Little
Bruce Jake; mother, Mary Parkett Jake; one granddaugher.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at the Assemble of God, Prewitt, following services.

Garrett Joe
LITTLEWATER Services for Garrett Joe,
22, will be 10 a.m. June 11, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints Church, Crownpoint. Elder Jimson Joe will officiate. Burial
will be in family plot, Littlewater.
Joe died June 6, 2008, in Socorro. He was born
Nov. 18, 1985, in Gallup, into the Apache People Clan for the
Towering House People Clan.
Joe graduated from Crownpoint Community School
and proceeded onto Crownpoint High School. He later obtained his
GED from CIT, where he also tutored his peers. Upon completion,
he was accepted into New Mexico Tech in Socorro where he completed
his freshman year. Joe would have continued as a returning sophomore
to become a Civil Engineer. He was also employed at K-Bobs.
He was enthusiastic, funny, energetic, adventurous. He was outgoing
and enjoyed skateboarding, animals, cooking, kids, teaching, family
and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Bernice Etsitty,
Elmer Johnson; sisters, Lanice Jackson of Aztec, LaTasha Joe of
Glendale; grandparents, Dixie Moustache of Littlewater, Mary Rose
McCabe Joe of China Springs.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Anson
Joe; brother, Brandon J. Joe; grandfather, Stuart K. Etsitty.
Pallbearers will be Jui Jui Joe, Gary Yazzie,
Jonathan Connell, Randy Anderson, Jonathan Houston, Aaron Benally.
