Paul Eversole

BLUEWATER — Services are pending for Paul Eversole, 75.

Eversole died Monday, June 16, 2008, in Bluewater. He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Sharon, P.A.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin Jim

GALLUP — Services are pending for Benjamin Jim, 28.

Jim died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born Sept. 24, 1979, in Fort Defiance.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Simp

KAYENTA — Services for Thomas Yazzie Simp, 36, will be 10 a.m., June 19, at the Kayenta Bible Church. The Rev. Gary Smyth will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Kayenta.

Simp was born Feb. 8, 1972, in Monument Valley, Utah., into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitterwater People Clan.

Simp gave rides to people hauling wood and he helped chop wood into small pieces.

Survivors include his mother, Corena Simp; brothers, Samuel Simp, Martin Simp; sisters, Maybell Simp, Melissa Lee, Charlene Simp.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 6 p.m. tonight, June 18, at the Kayenta Bible Church.

Helen Smith

GALLUP — Services for Helen L. Smith, 75, will be 9 a.m. June 19, at the St. Joseph’s Church in old Laguna. A rosary will be recited today, June 18, at her family house, Ruby Antonio’s residence in Old Laguna.

Smith died June 16, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born July 8, 1933, in Sheepsprings, into the Red House People Clan for the Little Water People Clan.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Smith of Gallup; daughter, Alberta Holman of Crownpoint; sister, Florence Chino of Old Laguna; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Smith was preceded in death by her brothers, Timothy Brown, Robert Brown; father, Richard Brown; mother, Helen Brown.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Timothy Notah

LAWRENCE, Kans. — Memorial services for Timothy Notah, 82, were 2 p.m., June 7, at the Hunter’s Point Community Church. The Rev. Lawrence Harper officiated. Private disposition was at Notah’s family land, Hunter’s Point.

Notah died April 27, 2008, in Lawrence, Kans. He was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Hunter’s Point, into the Winter Clan of the Tewa (Nambe Pueblo) People Clan for the Weaver-Zia People Clan.

Notah attended Pittsburg State University and obtained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in industrial arts. In 1948 he worked for local painting contractors in Lawrence and hired as a Painting Contractor for the Haskell Institute in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. Notah was affiliated with Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Lawrence. His hobbies included golf, working outdoors, traveling, playing the guitar and piano.

Survivors included his wife, Bette Notah of Lawrence; daughter, Jeanette Notah-Byington of Lawrence; brothers, Kenneth Notah of Albuquerque, Samuel Notah of Bartllesville, Okla., Joseph R. Notah of Hunter’s Point, Thomas Notah of Hunter’s Point; sisters, Anna Sanderson of Hunter’s Point, Esther Dawes of Hunter’s Point; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Notah was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Tsehe Notah; brothers, Johnny Notah, David P. Notah, Johnathan Notah.

Pallbearers were family members.

Lennie Parker

MANUELITO — Funeral services for Lennie Parker, 75, will be 1 p.m. June 20, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Stake Center, Gallup. Brother Edison J. Wauneka will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Manuelito.

Parker died June 15, 2008, in Gallup. He was born July 16, 1932, in Rocky Point, into the Black Streak People Clan for the Water Edge People Clan.

Parker attended Hunter’s Point Boarding school. He worked with Nielson’s Construction, Corn Construction, Twin State Construction, WW Construction, Steere Tank Lines, Gallup Sand and Gravel, McKinley County School transportation, Kachina Packing Co., Manuelito Chapter President, Certificate of Completion Jobs ‘70, Entry Training Program, and Tractor-Trailer Driver’s Course and silversmithing.

Survivors include his wife, Grace N. Parker, of Manuelito; daughters, Landie N. Parker-Haley of Manuelito, Lorene N. Parker of Rio Rancho, Leona Parker of Manuelito; son, Lonnie Parker of Oak Springs; sister, Pauline Arviso of Manuelito; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Parker was preceded in death by his daughter, Leonie Parker; son, Lennzie Parker; brothers, Jesse Parker, Frank Parker, Joe Parker, Leo Parker Jr., William Parker; father, Leo Parker Sr.; mother Lilly Parker.

Pallbearers will be Julian Haley, Mateo Lee, Roger James, Cody Mariano, Tyrone Becenti, Jackson Brown.

The family will receive relatives and friends at SWIM-Church of God, Following Burial.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
