Begay, Lorena B.

RED ROCK — Funeral services for Lorena B. Begay, 23, will be 10 a.m. June 21, at the Cope Memorial Chapel. Jake Yazzie Jr. will officiate. Private Disposition will be in Two Wells, N.M.
Begay died June 15, 2008, in Sagebrush. She was born Oct. 21, 1984, in Zuni, into the Towering House People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan.

Begay graduated in 2003 from Gallup High School. She attended the UNM-Gallup and majored in Pediatric nursing. Her hobbies included cooking, listening to her favorite music, playing in sports such as, basketball, volleyball and softball.

Survivors include her parents, Henry Y. Begay of Two Wells, Rena B. Begay of Red Rock; brothers, Patterson, Reginald, Tyrell Begay, all of Red Rock; sister, Cassandra Smith of Red Rock; grandparents, Lena Smith of Red Rock, Bobby Smith of Gallup, Bertha Yazzie of Two Wells.
Begay was preceded in death by Mary Wilson, Lucy Smith; great-grandparents, Billy and Bah Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Billison Yazzie, Ellison Yazzie, Junior Smith, Sammy Smith Sr., Gilbert Smith and Richard Smith Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Henry, Rena Begay’s residence, Red Rock.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Smith, Annie

WHITE HORSE LAKE, N.M. — Funeral services for Annie Jake Smith, 78, will be 11 a.m., June 21, at the Pentaioster Church, White Horse Lake. Betty Betone will officiate. Burial will be in White Horse Lake. Visitation will be 9 a.m. June 21, at White Horse Lake.

Smith died June 17, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born 1935, in White Horse Lake, into the Mexican People Clan for the Clumped Tree People Clan.

Smith was a homemaker who loved to be around her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to many places and loved to weave rugs.

Survivors include her husband, Chee J. Smith of Whitehorse Lake; sons, Herbert Smith of Salt Lake City, UT., Chee Smith Jr. of White Horse Lake, Robert Smith of Gallup, Anthony Smith of Salt Lake City, Franklin Smith of Salt Lake City, Wallace Smith of White Horse Lake; brother, Robert Jake of White Horse Lake; sisters, Priclua Pettigrew of White Horse Lake, Julia Jake Bradley of White Horse Lake; 11 grandchildren.

Smith was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Smith.

Pallbearers will be Chee Smith Jr., Anthony Smith, Franklin Smith, Wallace Smith, Jarett Pearl, and Jake Smith.

The family will receive relatives and friends at White Horse Lake Chapter House.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
