Jonathan Brown
JONES RANCH Funeral services for Jonathan
Brown, 23, will be 10 a.m. July 2, at the Rollie Mortuary. Joe
Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Brown died June 23, 2008, in Gallup. He was born
June 5, 1985, in Manuelito, into the Water Flows Together People
Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Brown attended school in Tucson. He enjoyed skate
boarding, basketball, and being with friends and relatives.
Survivors include his son, Dorian Brown of Farmington; daughter,
Jernecia Brown of Lukachukai; mother, Evonne Brown of Jones Ranch;
brother, Jason Brown of Gallup; grandmother, Hazel Green of Jones
Ranch.
Brown was preceded in death by his sister, Cecelia
Brown; grandfather, John Brown.
Pallbearers will be Wilford Brown, Leroy Green,
Walter Begay, Emmanuel Green, Leo Green, Alfred Brown.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mae Tom
MARIANO LAKE Funeral services for Mae
Ruth Tom, 69, will be 11 a.m. July 2, at the Mariano Lake Community
Church. The Rev. Jones Dehiya will officiate. Private disposition
will be in Mariano Lake.
Tom died June 27, 2008, in Gallup. She was born
Sept. 17, 1938, in Mariano Lake, into the Deer Springs People
Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Tom attended Intermountain Indian School. She
was a homemaker and a rug weaver. Her hobbies included gardening,
crossword puzzles and spending time with grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Ricky Etsitty of
Kinlichee; daughters, Emma Etsitty of Mariano Lake, Peggy Sam
of Gallup, Norma Lamone of Standing Rock, Ella Morgan of Gallup,
Ada Morgan of Casamero Lake, Etta Morgan of Casamero Lake, Ida
M. Joe of Wingate; brothers, Jimmie K. Tom of Zuni, Frankie J.
Tom Sr. of Monument Valley, Utah, John Tom Jr. of Mariano Lake,
Charlie Tom Sr. of Borrago Pass; 54 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by her parents, John
Tom Sr., Jennie Begay Tom; brothers, Robert Tom, Sam Jim Tom;
sisters, Bessie Tom, Marie Tom, Betty Tom.
Pallbearers will be John R. Bennet, Leon Warner
Jr., Christopher Charlie, Albert Chapo, Alvin Yazzie, Anthony
Bowman.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
