Planning Meeting

TOHATCHI — Tohatchi Community Land Use Planning Meeting will be 9 a.m. July 8, at the Tohatchi Community Chapter.

Counselor Visit

ROCK POINT — Veterans Benefits Counselor Visit will be 9-11 a.m., July 8 at the Rock Point Chapter House and 12-3:30 P.M., July 8, at the Chile Vet Center. The ADVS helping veterans and their dependents with information about veteran’s benefits and assistance in filing claim. The claimant should bring any pertinent information pertaining to the subject of the visit especially all VA correspondences, DD-214, medical records, marriage license, divorce decree, death certificate, birth certificates, all income award letters, medical expenses, S.S. cards, etc.

Reading Program

NEWCOMB, N.M. — Summer Reading Program started June 9, and will end Aug. 5. All participants who sign up will get a T-shirt and will be eligible for weekly prize drawings. Still accepting participants until July 18, the last day to sign up. Story time will be 11 a.m., every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of July at the library. During story timed will be doing hands-on crafts an some days having a featured movie. Featured movie will be “The Jungle Book” on Thursday, July 10, after story time. Questions call 505-696-2003.

CHURCHROCK — Small business development workshops, Evening Workshop, “How to Develop, Write and Package a Business Plan” will be 5:30-7:30 p.m., July 8, at the Eastern Regional Business Development Office, Churchrock, 2 miles east of I-40 and Route 66 intersection (by mile marker 28).

Using Technology

GALLUP — Using technology to create Native stories in animation films will be 9 a.m.-5p.m. July 8-14, at the UNM-Gallup, Calvin Hall. NAZLINI — Beautiful Valley Estates Meeting will be 6 p.m., July 8, at the Nazlini Chapter House.

Science Camp

CROWNPOINT — Navajo Technical College annual science summer camp will be July 14- Aug. 1. Registration deadline is July 9. This program is intended for high school students only. Must apply with a program application and submit a copy of your CIB (if Native American or Alaskan), and report card. Pick up more information and an application at the NTC campus in Modular 1, or at your local chapter house. You can send through e-mail or submit to Malanie Begay or Todd Romero.
