Thomas Johnson

GALLUP — Services for Thomas Johnson, 40, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, at the Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Johnson died July 10, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 6, 1967, in Gallup, into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Johnson attended Gallup High School, class of 1985. He worked with First American Traders. His hobbies included silversmith, drawing, listening to music, art-work, spending time with family and making jokes.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Joe of Mentmore; sons, Travis, Andrew, Timothy, Anthony, Kirby Thomas Johnson Jr., all of Mentmore, Brian of Redrock; daughters, Leann of Redrock, Tracy Johnson of Mentmore; brothers, Nelson Johnson of Old Zuni Drive in Road, Gallup, Robert Johnson Sr. of Continental Divide; sister, Irene Yazzie of Old Zuni Drive in Rd., Gallup; one grandchild.

Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; father, Kee Thompson; sister, Ella Mae Wero.

Pallbearers will be Travis Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Elrie John, and Freddie Wero.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
