Franklin Begay

CRYSTAL — Services for Franklin NMN Begay, 54, will be 10 a.m., July 16, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Crystal.

Begay died July 12, 2008, in Gallup. He was born April 20, 1954, in Fort Defiance, into the Tohani People Clan for the Tabaahi People Clan.

Begay grew up in Crystal and Provo, Ut. He graduated from Provo High School, Provo, Ut. He served a 2 year mission from the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in London, England. He later went to school at Brigham Young University and University of New Mexico. Begay held various construction and management jobs. He enjoyed partaking in the Jesus Christ of Latter--days Saints Church activities and working on his family’s fields, taking care of his livestock, participating in shoe games and assisting community and family members in social, religious activities. He maintained close ties with his foster family, the Clarks, of Provolovem, Ut.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lee Begay of Fort Defiane; step-sons, Lydell Pahe, Lee Pahe, of Fort Defiance; brothers, Christopher Begay, Ross Begay Jr., John R. Begay, Richard Begay, Robert M. Begay, Daryl R. Begay, Michael S. Begay, of Crystal; sisters, Theresa Kedelthy, Sharlynne Louis, Betty Roanhorse, Sharon Begay, Patricia Begay, Rose Marie Moore, of Crystal.

Begay was preceded in death by his father, Ross Begay Sr.; mother, Denetso Begay Wilson; sister, Rebecca J. Begay, Regina J. Begay, Deanna R. Begay; brothers, Toledo R. Begay; step-son, Lyndol Pah.

Pallbearers will be Ross Begay Jr., David Yazzie, Randy Berry, Larry Golbe, John Ross Begay, Emerson Steven Shirley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Theresa Kegelty’s residence, following services.

Ronald Begay

VANDERWAGON — Funeral services for Ronald Y. Begay, 37, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, at the Rollie Mortuary. Evanglist Jake Yazzie Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Begay died July 12, 2008, in Gallup. He was born May 27, 1971, in Gallup, into the Water Edge People Clan for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan.

Begay attended Roosevelt Elementary, Gallup Mid, graduated from Gallup High class of 1991, and continued his education at UNM-Gallup for 4 years. He worked part time at UNM. Begay loved to help others out, making people laugh, and enjoyed working on cars.

Survivors include his parents, Raymond Y. Begay Sr., Grace T. Begay of Vanderwagon; brothers, Raymond Y. Begay Jr., Norman Y. Begay, of Vanderwagon; sisters, Lovann B. Lonasee, Joann Begay of Vanderwagon.

Begay was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice T. Yazzie, Harvey Etsitty, Aken bah Jim, Tom Jim.

Pallbearers will be Wilson Williams, Nelson Williams, Patrick Analla, Christopher R. Begay, Casey Charley, and Melvin Charley Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Andres and Lovann Lonasee’s residence, Hwy 602 #1214, Vanderwagon, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Louise Davidson

FLAGSTAFF — Services are pending for Louise Davidson, 85.

Davidson died July 12, 2008, in Flagstaff. She was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Seymour, TX.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Maggie Laughing

GLENDALE — Graveside services for Maggie Chee Laughing, 75, were 1 p.m., today, July 15. The Rev. Ben Yazzie officiated. Burial was in Chinle Community Cemetery.

Laughting died July 11, 2008, in Glendale. She was born July 4, 1933, in Low Mountain, Ariz., into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Laughing enjoyed sewing and spending lots of time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Darryl Chee; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Laughing was preceded in death by her daughter, Agnes Chee.

Pallbearers were Robert Baker, Leonard Nez, Carl Yazzie, Kee Yazzie Chee, and Dennis Yazzie.
The family received relatives and friends at Chinle Catholic Hall, following services.

Tse Bonito Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Parpart

GALLUP — Services are pending for Kenneth F. Parpart, 81.

Parpart died Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Beaver Dam, Wis.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
