ROUGH ROCK Graveside services for Errol
Begay, 20, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at the Community
Cemetery, Rough Rock.
Begay died July 14, 2008, in Rough Rock. He
was born Oct. 1, 1987, in Chinle, into the Salt People Clan for
the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Begay was a ranch worker and enjoyed doing odd
jobs for his community around the Rough Rock area.
Survivors include his parents, Sandra Begay,
Sam Lee Begay of Rough Rock; brothers, Daryl Vinyard of Phoenix,
Philbert McCurtain of Phoenix, Arlando Begay of Jeddito, Leander
Begay of Salt Lake City, Ut., Marcus Begay of Phoenix, Gavin Lee
Begay of Phoenix; sisters, Brendina Begay of Phoenix.
Begay was preceded in death by Leta Begay, Tsinnijinnie
Begay, Jerret Walker, Joe Lee McCurtain.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family received relatives and friends 7
p.m., July 16-17 at Sam and Sandra Begays residence.

FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services for Randolph
Begay, 45, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at the Good Shepard
Mission, Fort Defiance. The Rev. Richard Stevens will officiate.
Burial will be in family land, Rabbit Brush.
Begay died July 11, 2008, in Gallup. He was
born Dec. 7, 1964, in Fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People
Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Begay enjoyed making Navajo baskets, being with
friends, and horse back riding.
Survivors include his son, Everett Begay; daughters,
Trisha Begay, Carrie Begay, Valerie Begay; mother, Tullie Begay;
brothers, Wallace Begay, Harrison Begay, Hermanson Begay; sisters,
Alice Grass, Ella Young, Rosita Begay, Teresa Scott.
Begay was preceded in death by his father, Wilson
T. Begay; brothers, Jamison Begay, Johnson Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at Tullie Begays residence.

Becenti, Nellie
STANDING ROCK Services are pending for
Nellie C. Becenti, 93.
Becenti died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born May 19, 1915, in Standing Rock, into the Folded Arms
People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.
A family/community gathering will be 6 p.m.,
tonight, July 18, at the Standing Rock Chapter House.

Charley, Wilfred Sr.
HO-CHEE, Ariz. Memorial services for
Wilfred Charley Sr., 84, will be 10 a.m., July 21, 2008 at the
Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Chinle, Ariz. Burial will
be 2 p.m. July 22, at the National Cemetery, Santa Fe.
Charley died July 16, 2008, in Albuquerque.
He was born May 15, 1924, in Gallup, into the Water Flows Together
People Clan for the Near Waters Edge People Clan.
Charley was a life long resident of Ho-chee
Ariz. He started his education at Chinle Elementary School and
completed his education at Shiprock Boarding School. In 1939 as
an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, he visited Washington,
DC. He lied about his age so that he could enlist in the U.S.
Marine Corp. Charley was in the infantry and saw extensive combat
in the South Pacific. He then served as a MP during the war trials
in Tokyo, Japan. He enlisted in the U.S, Army where he was an
airborne infantry paratrooper. He completed the New Mexico State
Police Academy to serve as a Navajo police officer. Charley worked
as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, carpenter, mechanic,
cowboy and farm laborer. He established his family at Ho-Chee
were they continue to raise cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and
a large farm. Charley loved all kinds of racing, from cars to
horse races and kids foot races. As a young man, he was a champion
saddle bronc and bareback rider. He loved to sing and was often
asked to sing Yeii Bi Chee songs as well as horse riding songs.
Charley embraced his traditional Navajo ceremonies and practices.
He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild
compete and excelling in all forms of sports on the local, national
and international levels. He also enjoyed movies and loved to
travel and see the country and the world though his military service.
Survivors include his wife Martha Holyan Charley; children, Rose
Mary Toledo of Farmington, Florence Velma Charley Hendren of Chinle,
Mildred Jean Watchman of Albuquerque, Chik Charley of Farmington,
Marlene Charley of Las Vegas, NV., W. Wayne Charley of Albuquerque,
Stephanie R. Perry of Crownpoint, Daniel Patrick Charley of Chinle;
22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grandchild.
Charley was preceded in death by his father,
Denet Chilly; mother, Yoe Bitsie; brother, Homer Scott.
Davidson,
Hattie
FLAGSTAFF Funeral services for Hattie
Louise Davidson, 85, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at the
East Aztec Baptist Church, Gallup. Brother Gene Turk, will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup. Visitation will
be 9 a.m.-4:30 p..m. at the Rollie Mortuary.
Davidson died July 12, 2008, in Flagstaff. She
was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Seymour, Texas.
Davidson graduated in 1942 from Seymour High
School. She worked for Anzac Transportation as a school bus driver,
CATO Pharmacy, managed Louise For Gifts Gift Shop,
and worked for McKinley County Mental Health. Davidson was a Charter
Member East Aztec Baptist Church, member order of Eastern Star
and Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include her sons, Randall E. Davidson
of Austin, Texas., Larry L. Davidson of Flagstaff; brothers, Jackie
Haynes of Hydro, Okla., Ray Lynn Haynes of Seymour, Texas.; sisters,
Lucille Eidson of Burleson, Texas, Mary Daymude of Iowa Park,
Texas, Becky Goodwin of Megarel, Texas; four grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren.
Davidson was preceded in death by her husband,
James Davidson; sister, Betty Hockettp; brothers, Grady Haynes,
Jimmy Haynes of Texas.
Pallbearers will be Robert Conner, Randy Daymude,
Mickey Eidson, Tom Hartsock, Frank Nechero, Jared Trujillo.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at East Aztec Baptist Church, following services.

Glascock, Robert
GALLUP Robert Breck Breckenridge Glascock
died Saturday, July 12, 2008. He was born in 1932, in Gallup.
At his request, no public services were offered.
Glascock was the son of Henry and Virginia Glascock.
He graduated from Gallup High School in 1951, and earned a Masters
of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University
of New Mexico in 1957, whereupon he began his 35-year career with
Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was a member of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and enjoyed many hobbies, including
fly fishing and downhill skiing. He also shared his time and computer
knowledge with various organizations in town.
Survivors include his four children, Joli Garcia
of Parker, Colo., Chris Glascock of Broomfield, Colo., Laura Glascock
of Los Alamos, Donald Glascock of Rochester, Minn.; sister, Gayla
Crossman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to Los Alamos Cares, 2390 North Road, Los Alamos, NM 87544.
Slinkey, Gerald
FORT DEFIANCE Services for Gerald Thomas
Slinkey, 48, was 1 p.m., today, July 18, at the Our Lady of the
Blessed Sacrament, Fort Defiance. The Very Rev. Gilbert Schnerder,
OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Fort
Defiance.
Slinkey died July 15, 2008, in Tucson. He was
born Dec. 14, 1959, in Fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People
Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.
Survivors include his son, Chad R. Slinkey of
Logan, Ut.; daughter, Chasity Slinkey of Lawrence, Kans.; brothers,
Richard T. Slinkey Jr. of Clinton, Okla., Eldon A. Slinkey of
Fort Defiance; sisters, Rita E. Hernasy of Fort Defiance, Linda
J. Slinkey of Fort Defiance; one grandchild.
Slinkey was preceded in death by his parents,
Richard Slinkey Sr., Ella M. Slinkey; brothers, Ronald Slinkey,
Michael Slinkey.
Pallbearers will be Dwight A. Slinkey, Ronald
E. Slinkey, Craig M. Valdo, Joe Valdo, Carlton R. Hernasy, and
Ronald Blackgoat.
