Milan man killed in cycle crash By Helen Davis MILAN A man was killed in Milan Sunday when his motorcycle went out of control shortly after midnight. Jimmy Perez, 24, was riding north on New Mexico Highway 605 near Berryhill Street at 12:40 a.m. July 20, when he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from the vehicle, Sgt. Rick Doty of the New Mexico State Police District 6 office in Milan said. Perez sustained serious injuries and was taken to Cibola General Hospital in Grants where emergency room personnel attempted to revive him, Doty said. The rider was pronounced dead at 1:46 a.m. Alcohol was involved, and Perez appeared to be riding alone, Doty said. A bystander reported the accident. State police report Perezs address on Laurie
Lee Court in Milan, but the young man has been living in Albuquerque,
said Donald Jaramillo, President of the Grants MainStreet Project.
It is thought that he was in town for the Fire and Ice Bike Rally. He introduced me to his boss as my best friends Dad on Friday, Jaramillo said. Perezs accident occurred two blocks from where Samuel J. Gutierrez Jaramillo, Jaramillos son, was killed in an automobile accident. |
