Nayah Blackgoat

OLD COAL MINE — Funeral services for Nayah Blackgoa, 96, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26, at the Good Shepard Mission, Fort Defiance.

Blackgoat died July 23, 2008, in Gallup. He was born April 4, 1912, in Old Coal Mine.

Blackgoat attended Fort Apache, Fort Mohave and Albuquerque Indian School. He worked as a coal mine worker, A-Z Tire Recap Co., BIA Carpenter (all trade) retired, Navajo Nation Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors include his sons, Stenson M. Blackgoat, Ernest N. Blackgoat; daughters, Pearl Marlene Hale, Sarah M. Lee; sister, Anna C. Barber; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Blackgoat was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; eight brothers; two sisters; parents, Hosteen Nez, Bengebah Blackgoat; son, James Blackgoat.

Pallbearers will be Stenson Blackgoat, Sheldon Blackgoat, Steven Girty, Ronald Blackgoat., Bryon Nelson, Shawn Blackgoat.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shepard Mission, Thorne Bldg., following services.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Sheryl Caudill

BEND, Oreg. — Memorial services for Sheryl “Little Byrd” Talk Caudill, 41, will be 1-4 p.m., Saturday, July 26, at the Playground of Dreams, Gallup.

Caudill died July 17, 2008, in Bend, Ore. She was born Feb. 19, 1967, in Gallup.

Caudill enjoyed spending time with family. Her hobbies included camping, riding motorcycles, powwows, and Native American culture.

Survivors include her mother, Rosemary Talk of Gallup; daughters, Celina Miguel of Maricopa, Ariz., Tamara Denetclaw of Bend, Ore. Tasheena Caudill of Phoenix; brothers, Allen Talk Jr. of Bend, Terrence Sanderson of Bend, Myron Garcia of Shiprock; sisters, Dorothy Yazzie of Gallup, Teresa Talk of Gallup.

Caudill was preceded in death by her father, Allen Talk Sr.; brother, Aaron Ray; grandparents, Naswoot Tsosie, Anne Smith-Tsosie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made during the memorial services.

George Little Jr.

RIO RANCHO — Services for George Little Jr., 54, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26, at the Kamp Kiwanis Chapel. Roscoe D. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Chichiltah.
Little died July 22, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born April 29, 1954, in Fort Defiance, into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Little attended Eastern New Mexico University and got his Master’s in Business Administration. He worked at Kerr McGee Mining, Navajo Nation (Water Resources), Inter Tribal Council of Arizona. He enjoyed all outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Little; son, Gregory Little; father, George Little Sr.; brother, Gene Little; sisters, Gloria Yepa, Georgianna Thompson.

Little was preceded in death by his mother, Glessie J. Little.
Pallbearers will be Ray Tsingine, Virgil Thompson, Jason Yepa, Calvin Thompson, Neil Little, Garron Yepa.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Kamp Kiwians Chapel, following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UNM Albuquerque Cancer Center.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

John Tsosie Sr.

KINLICHEE — Funeral services for John Allen Tsosie Sr., 79, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26, at the St. Michaels Catholic Church, Ariz. The Rev. Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Kinlichee. Visitation will be 9 a.m., July 26, at the St. MIchaels Catholic Church.

Tsosie died July 21, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Kinlichee, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Big Water People Clan.

Survivors include his son, Lorenzo Tsosie; daughters, Ruby Johnson, Laura Tsosie; brother, George Tsosie; sister, Iren Williams; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Tsosie was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Ah-ke-bah Tsosie; brothers, Joe, Lee, Thomas, Kee Bennie Tsosie Sr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Kinlichee Chapter House, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
