VonErick Begay
MARIANO LAKE Memorial services for VonErick
Allen Begay, 18, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Cope
Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Eddie Rodriguez will officiate.
Begay died Aug. 9, 2008, in Gallup. He was born
Nov. 16, 1989, in Gallup, into the Mountain Cove People Clan for
the Edge Water People Clan.
Begay attended McKinley County Schools until
he took a entry level opening at Bloomfield Mashine and Welding,
where he quickly rose to a fabricator welder position. He loved
music and attended numerous concerts. Begay loved to draw and
was an aspiring tattoo artist that also loved to spend time with
friends and close family members.
Survivors include his parents, Maxine Tsosie,
Paul Tsosie; brother, Brandon Tsosie; sister, Meladie Huffman;
grandparents, Dianna Begay, Sam Shorty Begay.
Begay was preceded in death by his brother,
Emery Vandever.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Duboise, Damien
Duboise, Ryland Huffman, Joseph Campos.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ned Benally, Sr.
KAYENTA Funeral services for Ned T. Benally
Sr., 89, will be at 9:30 am, Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Kayenta
Bible Church. Internment will follow at 3 p.m., at the Flagstaff
Citizens Cemetary.
Benally died August 12, 2008. He was born January
17, 1919, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for
the Mexican People Clan.
Benally was a business owner, Toh-Den-Nas-Shai
Trading Post and Lumber & Supply. He operated stores in Kayenta,
Bluff, Chilchinbeto, Tse Bonito and a cattle ranch near Chaco
Canyon, NM. He served in the Navajo Nation Council under the Paul
Jones, Raymond Nakki, and Peter MacDonald administration. Benally
was quoted in the Navajo Times, Ned T. Benally would like
to see tribal, state, and federal governments put more resources
into young people so they can gain experience and learn personal
responsibilities before reaching 18 years of age."
Survivors include his sisters, Dorothy Benally,
Nancy Benally, Beth Gould, Pearl Gould; children, Yvonne Reed,
Flora Donald, Lawson T. Benally, Sr., Ned T. Benally, Jr., Sylvia
Dugi, Mavis Belone, Tommy Benally; 35 grandchildren.
Benally was preceded in death by his wife, Lois
Cody Benally; brothers, Tyler Benally, Lee Benally; son, John
H. Yazzie;
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Reed, Lorne Bradley,
Lawson T. Benally, Jr., Nathan Benally, Lee Benally, William Benally,
Lorenzo Dugi, Terence Benally.
A meeting will be held every evening until funeral
service at 6 p.m. at Yvonne Reeds residence in Kayenta.
Jeremiah Damon
CORNFIELDS Funeral services for Jeremiah
John Damon, 26, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Community
Bible Church, Tse Bonito. The Rev. Lawrence Harper will officiate.
Burial will be in Sam Houston Damon family plot, Goat Springs.
Damon died Aug. 12, 2008, in Cornfields. He
was born Jan. 22, 1982, in Gallup, into the Towering House People
Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Damon attended Window Rock Elementary, Ganado
Mid and graduated from Ganado High in 2000. He attended the Universal
Technical Institute in Phoenix. He was employed with Chance Corporation
at the time of this death. Damon enjoyed the outdoors, camping,
boat fishing, four wheeling, being a mechanic and spending time
with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Matilda Delgai
of Cornfields; brothers, Joseph Paul Damon of Albuquerque, Jacob
Martin Damon of Albuquerque.
Damon was preceded in death by his father, Paul
(Joe) Damon Jr.; grandparents, John and Maude Delgai, Paul Revere
Damon Sr., Louise C. Damon of Ganado; great-grandparents, Dolth
Curley, Nagebah Slivers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Damon, Isaiah Leslie,
Edwin Brown, Darren Delgai, John Beyale, Thornton Beyale, Rodney
Thompson, Micah Leslie.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Robert Dixon
TWO GREY HILLS Services for Robert Dixon
Sr., 59, will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Jesus of Christ of
Latter-Day Saints Church, Toadlena. Interment will be at Toadlena
Community Cemetery, Toadlena. A viewing will be at 9- 10 a.m.,
Aug. 16.
Dixon died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, in Continental
Divide. He was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Toadlena.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Dixon, Jr., Rudy Dixon; sisters,
Anna Hardy, Elsie T. Benally; 10 grandchildren;1 great-grandchild.
Dixon was preceded in death by his parents,
Taylor and Alice Dixon.
Reception will be at Two Grey Hills Chapter
House.

Glorenia Henry
NASCHITTI Services are pending for Glorenia
B. Henry, 50.
Henry died Aug. 13, 2008, in Albuquerque. She
was born July 23, 1958, in Gallup.
A family gathering will be 5 p.m., tonight,
Aug. 15, at the Naschitti Chapter House.
