Mother busted for DWI Copyright © 2008 GALLUP A 27-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated with her 6-year-old daughter. Monica Prieto, 27, was also charged with failure to yield to oncoming traffic and abandonment or abuse of a child when she was arrested following a collision with another vehicle near the intersection of N.M. Highway 602 and Park Avenue Sunday night, according to McKinley County Sheriffs Deputy Diedra Gonzaless report. Gonzales reports finding an open beer bottle in the floorboard of Prietos vehicle and a prescription bottle of Oxycodone, a controlled narcotic, in her purse. Gonzales transported both mother and daughter to RMCH to check for injuries. They were treated for minor scrapes before Prieto was taken to McKinley County Adult Detention Facility. Prietos parents took custody of her daughter. |
