Esther Billie
KLAGETOH Services for Esther T. Billie,
93, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Menonite Church,
Klagetoh. The Rev. James Joe will officiate. Burial will be in
Community Cemetery, Klagetoh.
Billie died Sept. 23, 2008, in Gallup. She was
born July 15, 1915, in Klagetoh, into the Folded Arms People Clan
for the Black Streaked Forest People Clan.
Billie was well known for her rug weaving. She
received awards for it and was featured in Arizona Highways Magazine.
She relocated to Wyoming for ranching and she used to herd over
a thousand head of sheep. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending
time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Oscar Billie of Klagetoh;
daughter, LaVerne T. Thomas of Klagetoh; sister, Sarah Begay of
Klagetoh; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis B. Yazzie, Jerald
C. Baldwin, Vincent Baldwin, Ryan Baldwin, Farrell Baldwin, and
Milton Deal.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ella Sleuth
NASCHITTI Services are pending for Ella
Nez Sleuth, 81.
Sleuth died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, in Albuquerque.
She was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Naschitti, into the Salt Water
People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
A donation meeting for family and friends will
be 6 p.m., tonight, Sept. 26, at the Naschitti Chapter House.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Trudy Tom
JONES RANCH Funeral services for Trudy
Rose Tom, 36, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at Rollie Mortuary
Chapel. The Rev. Joe Lee will officiate. Burial will be in the
family plot, James Ranch.
Tom died Sept. 22, 2008, in Albuquerque. She
was born Nov. 10, 1971, in Gallup, into the Black Sheep People
Clan for the Saline Water People Clan.
Tom graduated from Gallup High School, class
of 1993. She worked at B.G. Mudd and Touch of Santa Fe, Gallup.
She was a member of Widefield Baptist Church. Her hobbies included
crafts, reading, silversmith, beadwork, and pottery.
Survivors include her son, Seban Chicharello.
Tom was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie
R. Tom; grandmother, Hasbah Tom; grandfather, John Tom.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Tom, Marcus Begay,
Julian Lasiloo, Kat Eddie, Colven Charley, Gareth F. Reed.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Michael Williams
LOS LUNAS Funeral services for Michael
Mickey Keith Williams, 70, will be 12 p.m., Saturday,
Sept. 27, at the Glenwood Community Park. Burial will be in Glenwood
Cemetery.
Williams died Sept. 18, 2008, in Los Lunas.
He was born in Tucson.
Williams was retired from the probation and
correction fields, where he worked for over 30 years. He loved
his 12-year job with the Fort Wingate School as a counselor and
rodeo coach.
He enjoyed coaching, traveling with rodeo students,
spending time with other cowboys. After his retirement in 1995,
he started doing drug testing for the Olympic Committee and the
NCAA.
Survivor include his wife, Marea Williams; sons, Michael Williams
Jr., Steve Williams; sister, Pat Williams.
Williams was preceded in death by his daughter,
Francine; parents; two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
the New Mexico Cancer Center and/or Presbyterian Hospice.
