Tax Workshop

GALLUP — UNM-G Small Business Development Center is co-sponsoring a workshop with the N.M. State Tax and Revenue Department. The CRS-1 Tax Workshop will be 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 8, at the Gallup Chamber of Commerce Code Talkers Room. Will cover basic taxes and how to file reports properly to avoid penalties. Red Ribbon Walk

2008 Red Ribbon Walk will begin Oct. 8 at 8 a.m.. The north Route will begin at Becenti Chapter and the South Route will begin at Thoreau Chapter. Will continue 8 a.m., Oct. 9, on both routes into Smith Lake Chapter. More info call Jamie Miek 505-786-2359 or Bernice Sage 505-786-2373.

Vaccine

CROWNPOINT — Crownpoint Indian Hospital began its annual influenza vaccine. All service units members from age 6 months and up are encouraged to get their vaccine. Check with your doctor if you have questions about receiving the flu-vaccine. Flu shots will be given at: Crownpoint Hospital, every Wednesday morning 8:30-11:30 a.m.; Pueblo Pintado Clinic, 1st Wednesday of each month 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.; Thoreau Clinic, every Friday 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. You may also receive your flu-vaccine at local chapters. Check with your local Community Health Representatives.

NAVAJO — Head-Start/home-base picture day will be 10 a.m., Oct. 8, at the Red Lake Chapter.

Support Group

Counselor Visit

FLAGSTAFF — Veterans Benefits Counselor Visit will be 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m, Oct. 8, at the Kayenta Navajo Workforce Development and 1:20-3:15 p.m., Oct. 8, at the Teecc Nos Pos Chapter House. The ADVS will be helping veterans and their dependents with information about veterans benefits and assistance in filing claim. The claimant should bring any pertinent information pertaining to the subject of the visit especially all VA correspondences, DD-214, medical records, marriage license, divorce decree, death certificate, birth certificates, all income award letters, medical expenses, S.S. cards, etc.
