Jasmine Joe
SHIPROCK Funeral services for Jasmine
G. Joe, 17, will be 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, at Four Corners Community
Church, Shiprock. The Rev. Eric Lee will officiate. Interment
will follow at the Shiprock Community Cemetery.
Joe died Friday, Oct.17, 2008 in Shiprock. She was
born June 29, 1991 in Gallup.
Survivors include her parents, Jeffrey and Anna
Joe of Shiprock; brothers, Jeremy, Brandon, Willard Joe; sisters,
Gina King, Cheryl Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by her grandfather, Sammy
Joe; grandfather, Bill Martin, Sr.; grandmother, Maryann Martin.
Pallbearers will be Clifford C. Martin, Wilfred
D. Martin, Bill Martin, Jr., Sonny Begay, Orlando Tony, Florentine
Buck and Fred Blueyes.
Desert View Funeral Home is in charge
of arrangements.
Nellie Begay
LUPTON Funeral services for Nellie B. Begay, 75, will
be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, at the LDS Stake Center, Gallup.
Burial will be in Tse Da Tha Canyon, Manuelito. Visitation will
be 9-9:45 a.m., Oct. 23 at the church.
Begay died Oct. 19, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 9, 1933,
in Lupton, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the
Salt Water People Clan.
Begay attended Catholic school. She was a homemaker, stone setter,
rug weaver and a short line cook. She liked to attend NAC meetings
with her late husband. Begay loved to spend time with her family
and enjoyed visiting and laughing, joking around with relatives.
Survivors include her sons, Ernest Charles Begay of Lupton, McCartney
Charles Begay of Mesa; daughters, Maybell Begay White of Lehi,
Utah, Annabell Begay Cousins of American Fork, Utah; sister, Mary
B. Loy of Lupton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Begay was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Begay Jr.; sons,
Louie Charles Begay, Vernon Charles Begay; brothers, Billie J.
Brown, John Brown Sr., Dick Brown; parents, Tom Brown, Mary Brown.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Brown Sr., Bryan Loy, McCartney Begay,
Louis Beau Begay, Kacy Troy White,
Tom Long Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Lupton Chapter,
following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Betty Canning
GALLUP Services are pending for Betty Thompson Canning,
49.
Canning died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in Gallup. She was born April
29, 1959, in Crownpoint, into the Folded Arms People Clan for
the Towering House People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
