GALLUP Services are pending for Julie Bobbie
Begay, 19.
Begay died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born Aug. 7, 1989, in Gallup, into the Salt People Clan
for the Zuni/Corn People Clan.
A meeting for family and friends will be 4 p.m., Nov. 1, at the
Naschitti Chapter House.

Louise Bergman
LAKEWOOD, Colo. Louise Haggerty Bergman (Bergie), 84,
was interned in Silverton Hillside Cemetery, October 6, 2008.
Bergman died Oct. 2, 2008, in Lakewood, Colo. She was born May
15, 1924, in Witchita Falls, TX.
Bergman was the daughter of Harry Clifford Haggerty and Gladys
Deering Coyle. At age 7 her father passed away and the family
moved to Hollywood, Calif. After graduating from Hollywood High
School in 1942, she entered the Los Angeles County School of Nursing.
Upon graduation as a Public Health Service nurse, she cared for
many severely wounded servicemen returning from overseas combat
zones. On March 21, 1947, she married Lester (Les) D. Bergman
in Philadelphia. Several years later she moved to the San Francisco
Bay area so Les could attend the University of California at Berkeley.
She continued with her Public Health Service nursing at Letterman
Army Hospital in San Francisco. Later she settled in Castro Valley
(East Bay Area) and continued her career at Eden Hospital. In
1958, she gained employment with the Public Health Service working
in the hospital in Fort Defiance, on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
Her love of the outdoors initiated many vacations to the Parks
of the Western States in her beloved Karmen Ghias. In 1959 she
made the trip on the narrow gauge railroad from Durango to Silverton,
and fell in love with the area. She loved Silverton and felt it
was a community she could enjoy living in and contribute something
to it. After returning to Castro Valley, she and Les decided they
would move to Gallup. They resided in Gallup until 1983 and then
moved to Silverton. She resided in Silverton for over 20 years
and was involved the initial organization of the quilt show there.
She was a steadfast member of the Silverton Congregational Church
and was involved with the Avalanche School. In 2005 her health
required she move to Montrose, Colorado and she lived there until
2008 when she moved to Lakewood.
Survivors include her son, David Bergman of Santa Rosa, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, donations donations may be made to the Silverton
Congregational Church in Silverton, Colorado.
Amalia Jaramillo
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Amalia Mollie Jaramillo,
82, will be 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 3, at St. Vivians Catholic
Church. The Rev.
Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will be in Grants Memorial
Park. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 2. A rosary will
be recited 7 p.m., Nov. 2, at St. Teresa Catholic Church.
Jaramillo died Oct. 28, 2008, in Grants. She was born July 13,
1926, in Cubero, N.M.
Jaramillo was the daughter of Marcelino Jaramillo and Ermina
Salazar Jaramillo. She was a resident of the area since 1957 and
worked with the Cibola County Assessors office until her retirement.
She was a devoted member of St. Vivians Catholic Church,
American Legion Auxiliary, and the Grants Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her sons, Eddie Jaramillo Jr. of Tatum, N.M.,
Joseph E. Jaramillo of Milan, N.M.; daughters, Stella Castillo
of Grants, Helen Bell of Grants, Marilyn Chavez of Cubero, Diana
Benavidez of Winnemucca, NV; sister, Julie Loo of Echo Park, Calif.;
22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren
Jaramillo was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie A. Jaramillo;
parents, Marcelino Jaramillo, Ermina Salazar Jaramillo; daughter,
Dorothy Jaramillo; two grandsons; brothers, Louie Jaramillo, Tommy
Jaramillo, Billy Jaramillo; sisters, Margie Gordon, Mita Candelaria,
Lorraine Norton, Rosie Jaramillo.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Castillo, Darrell Sanchez, Jackie
Sanchez, Fabian Jaramillo, Marcus Jaramillo, and Patrick Luna.

Ann Rodriguez
ALBUQUERQUE Funeral services for Ann Therese Rodriguez,
48, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at French Mortuary Westside
Chapel.
Therese died Oct. 27, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born March
1, 1960, in Spencerport, N.Y.
She grew up on a farm in Albion, N.Y. where she spent most of
her childhood. At the age of 10, Ann and her family moved to New
Mexico where the weather would benefit her fathers health.
Ann attended Taylor Middle School in Rio Rancho, and graduated
from Cibola High School in 1978. After her marriage, she and her
husband moved to Gallup and lived there for 28 years. They also
owned and operated Rodriguez Pumping in Gallup. She was also a
distributor with the Albuquerque Journal and Tribune for 27 years,
finally retiring in 2007 and returning to Albuquerque. She was
an animal lover, hard worker, gardener, landscaper.
Survivors include her husband Edward James Rodriguez; sister,
Donna; brothers, Ron, Leo, David Schultz; children, Michelle Liane
Norris, Edward Anthony, Sandra Ann Rodriguez and her in-laws Edward
and Emma Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Ronald
Schultz.
Rose Spencer
PETERSON WELLS, N.M. Services are pending for Rose Peterson
Spencer, 75.
Spencer died Oct. 29, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Feb. 10,
1933, in Peterson Wells.
A family meeting will be 5 p.m., Nov. 1, at the Tseyahtoh Chapter.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Katherine Watchman
SHEEPSRINGS Funeral services for Katherine R. Watchman,
78, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at Newcomb Christian Reformed
Church, Newcomb. Interment will be in Sheepspring Community Cemetery,
Sheepsprings.
Watchman died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Farmington. She was
born March 12, 1930, in Sheepsprings.
