Jean Notah
FORT DEFIANCE, Ariz. Services for Jean
G. Notah, 80, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 25 at the Navajo
Bible Church in Fort Defiance. Pastor R. Dean Baker will officiate.
Burial will follow at Fort Defiance Cemetery.
Notah died March 21, 2008 in Fort Defiance.
She was born Jan. 28, 1928 in Tachee, Ariz., into the Salt People
Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Notah received her GED and worked for Fort Defiance
Public Health Services for 39 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren
and watched them in sports activities, she enjoyed sewing and
was a member of the Navajo Bible Church.
Survivors include her sons Jay Notah of Fort
Defiance; daughters Brenda Notah, Connie Ashley, both of Window
Rock; brother Bennie Begay of Tachee; 11 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie
Notah; sister Maggie Peterson and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Kendall Peterson, Kyle Anderson,
Merle Anderson Jr., Allen West, Dwayne Anderson and Augustine
Anderson III.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia Yazzie
CORNFIELDS, Ariz. Services for Virginia
Tsosie Yazzie, 54 will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St.
Michaels Catholic Church. Viewing will be one hour before services
at the church.
A Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. today, March
24, 2008 at the Klagetoh Catholic Church..
Yazzie died March 20, 2008 in Chinle. She was
born May 11, 1953 in Ganado into the Charcoal Streaked Division
of the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Many Hogans
People Clan.
Yazzie was employed with the Navajo Nation since
1975 and did youth and community services. She enjoyed spending
time with family, watching basketball games, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include her sons Vaughn Vonrick Yazzie,
Valentino Todechinie; daughter Valencia Yazzie; brothers Arvin
Tsosie Holyan Tsosie, Vinson Tsosie; sisters Louise Zulveta, Evelyn
Begaye, Evonne Roanhorse, Verna Ben, Caroline Tsosie, Emolinda
Tsosie, Liza Tsosie.
She was preceded in death by her sons Virgil
Yazzie and Lemuel Todicheenie and her parents Mary and Paul Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at the Virginia Yazzie residence following services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Maria Noriega
GRANTS Services for Maria Noriega, 88,
will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Compassion Mortuary. Pastor
Clemente Saavedra will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants
Memorial Park.Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., today, March 24
at Compassion Mortuary.
Noriega died March 22, 2008 in Grants. She was
born Jan. 19, 1920 in Chihuahua, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nazario
Noriega, Ignacia Noriego-Rodriguez; brothers Cipriano Noriego,
Rosalio Noreiga; sisters Elena Fierro and Jovita Chavez.
Pallbearers will be Lalo Chavez, Nazario Noriega,
Oracio Noriega, Cesar Chavez, Patrick Chavez and Jesus Noriega.

Leonard Nez, Sr.
CHICHILTAH, N.M. Services for Leonard
Nez, Sr., 75, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St.
Patricks Catholic Mision. Father Walter will officiate. Burial
will follow in private land in Oak Canyon.
Nez died March 20 in Albuquerque. He was born
Dec. 4, 1932 in Cousins, N.M. into the Salt Water People Clan
for the Overhanging Rock People Clan.
Nez was retired from BNSF Railroad. He was a
rancher all his life. He enjoyed being with his family and granchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie A. Nez; sons
Darrell Nez, Leonard Nez Jr., both of Albuquerque, Delbert Nez
of Oak Canyon, Damon Nez of Cousins; stepdaughter Regina Bitsue
of Gallup; brothers Chester Nez of Albuquerque; sister Dora Nez
of Oak Canyon; 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Francis
Nez, Charlie Chee Nez; sons Ronald Nez and stepson Lance Sanisya.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Nez, Delbert Nez,
Leonard Nez Jr., Damon Nez, Alvin Bitsue and Kevin Bitsue.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at the Delbert Nez residence following services.
