Marie Henio-Herrera

COOLIDGE — Services are pending for Marie Shirley Henio-Herrera, 67, and will be announced at a later date.

Herrera died April 29, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born April 20, 1941, in Rehoboth.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Tom Long Jr.

CONTINENTAL DIVIDE — Funeral service for Tom R. Long Jr., 31, will be 10 a.m. May 2, at the Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Pastor Ernest Largo will officiate. Private disposition will be in Coolidge, N.M.

Long died April 28, 2008, in Fort Defiance. He was born Jan. 18, 1977, in Gallup, into the Salt People Clan for the Water Flow Together People Clan.

Long attended Thoreau Elementary, Middle and High School. He worked at Diamond C. Horses in Sagebrush, Al Concrete in Seagraves, Texas, and various side jobs. He loved riding and training horses, being outdoors, dancing, and joking around.

Survivors include his parents, Tom Long Sr., Anita Long; brothers, Calvin S. Charley, Rex R. Long, Melvin R. Long, Marvin R. Long, Felix R. Long, Russel T. Long, Alvin R. Long, Jim Paul Long, Christopher A. Long.

Long was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Nellie Charley, Jim Long and Mary Hill.

Pallbearers will be Calvin S. Charley, Rex R. Long, Melvin R. Long, Marvin R. Long, Felix R. Long, Russell T. Long, Alvin R. Long, Jim Paul Long, and Christopher A. Long.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Tom and Anita Long’s residence, Continental Divide, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Hollie Nielson

GRANTS — Services for Hollie Higginson Nielson, 78, will be 11 a.m. May 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1010 Bondad, Grants. Burial will be at the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery, Bluewater. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. May 2, at the Compassion Mortuary and 10-11 a.m. May 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nielson died April 26, 2008. She was born March 10, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Nielson was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was married to JII on May 2, 1947. She has been a resident of the Grants area since 1957.

Survivors include her daughter, Denyse Williams of Globe, Ariz.; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren.

Nielson was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hugh “JH” Nielson; parents, Margarete and Dennis Higginson; sister, Jean Godfrey.

Pallbearers will be Joe Underswood, Kyle Underwood, Manzel Underwood, Jeff Harris, Ivan Chavez, Frank Chavez, Kevin Chavez and John Meador.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
