Mary Dalton
BLACK MESA, Ariz. Funeral services for Mary
Jane Dalton, 82, will be 11 a.m. May 10, at the Oakridge Friends
Church, Black Mesa. Burial will be in family land, Oakridge.
Dalton died May 7, 2008, in Farmington. She was
born Dec. 25, 1925, in Black Mesa, into the Bitter Water People
Clan for the Yucca Fruit People Clan.
Dalton was a homemaker, bronco rider and roper,
quilter, herbalist, and rug weaver. She worked as a school board
member for 15 years and community service. She also did traditional
beadwork.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Dalton, Justin
Dalton, Nelson Dalton; daughters, Marianne Tagaban, Gloria Dalton-Sells;
brother, Tommy K. Begay; sisters, Margaret Dalton, Susie K. Begay;
24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Dalton was preceded in death by her parents, Kescoli
and Alice K. Begay; sisters, Rose Begay, Sally Benallie, Helen
Biltah, Grace Begay; brothers, Tom Yellowhair Sr., Isadore K.
Begay Sr.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dalton Jr., Emerito Dalton,
Arlyssia Sells, Augustine Sells Jr., Pernell Dalton, and Filipe
Tagaban Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at
Oak Ridge Friends Church., following services.

Martha Jim
HAYSTACK - Funeral services for Martha Z.
Jim, 82, will be 10 a.m. May 10, at the Zuni Canyon Miracle Church.
Sarahtt Begay will officiate. Burial will be City of Grants Cemetery.
Jim died May 6, 2008, in Haystack. She was born April 24, 1926,
in Haystack, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for
the Two Came to the Water People Clan.
Jim went attended school up to the 4th grade. She
was a life resident of Haystack and was active with Navajo Arts
and Crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Jim of Haystack;
son, Gordy Jim of Haystack; daughter, Sylvia Shutiva of Acoma;
two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by her daughter, Nettie
R. Jim; son, Jones P. Jim.
Pallbearers will be Gordy Jim, Chad Shutiva, Delbert
Brown, David Shutiva, Lawrence Begay, and Vidal Brown.
The family will receive relatives and friends at
Baca Chapter House, following services.

Mary Jim
GALLUP Services are pending for Mary Jim,
76.
Jim died May 8, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born
June 15, 1932, in Hogback.
A family meeting will be 6 p.m. tonight, May 9,
at the Churchrock Chapter.

Russell King
PHOENIX Funeral services for Russell Alvoid
King, 69, were 5:30 p.m. April 5, at the Preston Funeral Home,
Phoenix. Reo. Pleasant officiated. Visitation was 4:30-5:30 p.m.
April 5, at the Preston Funeral Home.
King died March 31, 2008, in Phoenix. He was born
July 28, 1938, in Vernon, Texas.
King attended Booker T. Washington school before
enlisting in the army in 1955. He served during peace time and
was honorably discharged in 1957. After discharge, King went back
to Vernon, Texas. to complete his education and relocated to Gallup
in 1959. He worked several jobs while in Gallup, the first being
a caddy at the local golf course and a bartender at the Shalimar
Hotel. King also at AC Houston Lumber Co. as a foreman until he
was promoted to assistant manager. He was employed there for 23
years. During his lifetime in Gallup, he served as a Deacon for
St. Paul Baptist Church. King also served on the board of Directors
for the Gallup Housing Authority. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and
served as President of the United Way. His most cherished accomplishment
was when he was elected to the county commission.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Gayle Neal
of Fullerton, Calif., Tanishya Kelley King-Hill of Phoenix; brother,
Clay Shelton King of Phoenix; sisters, Ida Nell Mack of Phoenix,
Jimmy Carol Willis of Gilbert, Vivian Williams of N.C.; eight
grandchildren.
King was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers;
one sister; one son.
Arlene Relyea
AZTEC, N.M. Memorial services for Arlena
Etsitty Relyea, 55, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10, at Desert
View Funeral Home, North Highway 491, Shiprock, New Mexico.
Relyea died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Aztec. She was
born May 16, 1952, in Fort Defiance.
Relyea retired from the Gallup Police Department
as a Police Corporal. She served many years as a police officer
in Gallup. Relyea enjoyed time with her grandchildren and the
outdoors such as camping, riding her ATV and most of all, the
mountains.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Relyea; daughters,
Shawna Etsitty, Revena Schrock; mother, Mary M. Hunt; brothers,
John Hunt, Leonard Hunt, Ralph Hunt, Jr., Ronald Hunt, Marlin
Hunt, Melvin Hunt; sisters, Helen Moore, Joni Hunt, Rhonda Hunt,
Velma J. Perry.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Hunt,
Sr.
Pallbearers will be Johnathan Hunt, Jon Hunt, Vincent
Sloan, Alex Moore, Edison Miller, Jr., Christopher Hunt and alternatate
- Arvin Hunt.
Desert View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
