Rosemary Cadman-Joe

CHINA SPRINGS — Funeral services for Rosemary Cadman-Joe, 77, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 11, at Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints Church Stake Center, Gallup. Bishop Rex Eby will officiate. Private disposition will be in China Springs.

Cadman-Joe died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in Gallup. She was born April 9, 1931, in Wildcat, into the Towering House People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Cadman-Joe finished school up to the 3rd grade. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church and was a homemaker and raised 11 children.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Joe, Emerson Joe, John Joe Jr., all of China Springs, Jimson Joe of Standing Rock, Ted Joe; daughters, Stella Joe of Thoreau, Anna Joe of Albuquerque, Mabel Joe of Gallup; brother, Albert Cadman of Wildcat; sister, Bessie Murphy of Blackhat; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by her husband, John Joe Sr.; son, Anson Joe; daughters, Ella Mae Cadman, Ruby Ann Joe.

Pallbearers will be Jason Jor, Cory Joe, Jui Jui Tso, Michael Joe, Daryl Cadman, John Willie.
The family received relatives and friends at Rock Springs Chapter, 6 p.m., Thursday, April 9.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Henry Hannah

CROWNPOINT — Services are pending for Henry Hannah, 88.

Hannah died Friday, April 10, 2009, in Bloomfield.

He was born June 10, 1921, in Becenti, into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

A family gathering will be Saturday, April 11, at the Old West Mesa home, house #35, Crownpoint. a family meeting will be Sunday, April 12, at Crownpoint Chapter House, 4 a.m.- 9 p.m.

Irene Jones

GALLUP — Funeral services for Irene Mae Jones, 89, will be 1 p.m., today, April 10, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Bulthuis will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Mission.

Jones died April 8, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Churchrock, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Charcoal Streak People Clan.

Irene Jones was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church. She was a resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Survivors include her son, Edward T. Begay; daughter, Linda Cekala of Albuquerque; sister, Isabella Hood-Johnson of Churchrock; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Jones was preceded in death by husband, Hubert A. Jones; father, Tom Jesus; mother, Baka Sizbah Becenti; sister, Jennabah Jesus; brother, Henry H. Wilson.

Pallbearers will be John Platero Jr., Don Campbell, Eugene Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Abel Johnson.

The family will meet at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Gallup, at 1 p.m.

Angeli Madrid

RIO RANCHO — Services for Angeli Alexis Madrid, 1 month old, will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 13, at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999, Wyoming Blvd., N.E., Albuquerque. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 12 p.m. one hour prior to services.

Madrid died Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Survivors include her parents, Greg and Adela Madrid of Rio Rancho; grandparents, Felix Segura and Maria of Albuquerque, Greg Madrid Sr. and Amy of Mesa, Anna and Sammy Alonzo of Albuquerque; great-grandparents, Phil and Daisy Madrid of Prescott, Isabel Rangel of Gallup, Juanita Tapia of Albuquerque, Gilbert and Mildred Alonzo of Gallup.

Madrid was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edwina Segura; great-grandfather, Horacio Gallegos.

Ernie Manuelito

WINDOW ROCK — Services for Ernie Manuelito, 57, will be announced at a later date.

Manuelito will always be remembered as a Navajo Radio Icon. He shared his talent and expertise with KTNN for over 23 years, as a Radio DJ, Chief Engineer, and Rodeo/Sports announcer. He was also an accomplished event announcer, sharing his voice and knowledge for events like rodeos, basketball and football games, and at various social events. Manuelito was the first person to broadcast on KTNN AM 660 on Feb. 28, 1986, at 6:30 a.m. He earned many awards during his career, including the BoJack Sports Award for announcer of the Year 1996 for the Navajo Broadcast of Super Bowl 30. His voice has been heard broadcasting many National Sporting games such as the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Mercury, Oakland Raiders, the National Finals Rodeo, and many rodeos across the Southwest.

Survivors include his wife and children.

Timothy Shortey

KLAGETOH — Funeral services for Timothy V. Shortey, 47, will be 10 a.m.,Tuesday, April 14, at St. Anne’s Catholic Mission, Klagetoh. Brother John Hotstream, SC, will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Klagetoh. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services, at St. Anne’s Catholic Mission.

Shortey died April 7, 2009, in Phoenix. He was born March 27, 1962, in Ganado, into the Honey Combed People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Shortey attended Ganado High School. He served in the United States Army. He was a laborer, musician and was very artistic and enjoyed his artwork.

Survivors include his sons, Verland Shortey of Klagetoh, Jacon Shortey of Chinle, Jordan Shortey of Chinle; daughter, Timmi Shortey, Tammy Shortey, Taleigha Shortey, all of Chinle; sisters, Debbie Manuel of Scottsdale, Beverly Shortey of Winslow.

Shortey was preceded in death by his father, David Shortey Sr.; mother, Frances B. Tsosie; brothers, Franklin Shortey, David Shorty Jr.
Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Klagetoh Chatper House, following services.

Sadie Wilson

UPROOTED TREE, RED ROCK — Services are pending for Sadie Wilson, 59.

Wilson died April 9, 2009, in Gallup. She was born April 30, 1949, in Black Rock.

A family meeting will be 3-9 p.m., today, April 11, at the Red Rock Chapter House, South of Gallup.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
