Victor Duran Jr.

GALLUP — Services for Victor James Duran Jr., 47, will be 8 a.m., May 2, 2009, at St. John Vianneys Parish, Gallup. Private Disposition will be in Phoenix. A rosary will be recited 8 a.m., at St. John Vianney.

Duran died March 19, 2009, in Phoenix. He was born Oct. 26, 1962, in Gallup.

Duran graduated from mechanic school and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Salazar of Phoenix; sons, Dominic Duran, Brian Duran, both of Phoenix; daughter, Amanda Duran of Phoenix; parents, Victor Duran Sr. of Los Lunas, Virginia Perez of Gallup; brothers, Carlos Duran of Albuquerque, Ralph Duran of Las Cruses; sisters, Celina Duran of Gallup, Marrissia Duran of Las Cruses; four grandchildren.

Duran was preceded in death by Carlos and Maggie Duran, Ralph and Jennie Perez.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. John Vianney Hall, following services.

Thomas Isaak

TSE BONITO — Funeral services for Thomas Eltor Isaak, 75, will be 9 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Isaak died April 27, 2009, in Tse Bonito. He was born March 14, 1934, in Tripp, S.D.

Isaak was a German descent. He was raised in South Dakota and was a Navy Veteran in Koreau.

He was also a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, a millwright by Trade #1319. Isaak worked 45 years in constuction in foreign countries and at least 30 states in the US. He had a Bachelor degree of Science in Mech. He was an English minor-Nuclear English College South Dakota State, Brookings, S.D.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria A. Isaak of Tse Bonito; sons, Thomas Isaak Jr. of San Diego; step-sons, Walter Cisco of Gallup, Willard Cisco of Fort Defiance; step-daughter, Sandra Cisco, Jolene Sam, both of Tse Bonito; parents, Lydia Roduner of South Dakota, Eltor Friederich Isaak of Delmont, S.D.; brothers, Don Isaak of Scottsdale, Jerry Isaak of South Dakota; sisters, Shirley Piearson of South Dakota, Mary Ann Isaak of Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walter Cisco, Wllard Cisco, Omar John, Herbert Slinkey, Justin Slinkey Jr., and Eldred Sam.

The family will receive relatives and friends atTse Ya Toh Chapter, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Kee Lewis

CHINLE — Funeral services for Kee Tsosie Lewis, 85, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Many Farms.

Bishop Rudy Yellowhair will officiate. Burial will be in community cemetery, Chinle. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to service.

Lewis died April 28, 2009, in Chinle. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Chinle, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Donald Lewis, Don Lewis, David Lewis, all of Chinle; daugthers, Louise Lewis, Irene Lewis, Margie Lewis, Monica Lewis, all of Chinle; brothers, Joe Lewis, Ben Lewis, both of Chinle; sisters, Rose Brown, Bah Yazzie, both of Chinle, Opal Begay of Many Farms; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Lewis was preceded in death his wife, Jennie Lewis; daughter, Theresa Lewis; brother, Billy Lewis, Leo Lewis, Ceya Lewis; parents, Baddy and Desbah Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Don Lewis, Nathan Brown, Raymond Brown, Amos Brown, David Yazzie and Nelson Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Lewis family residence, 1/4 mile east of Mustang Store.

Evangeline Paul

ROCK SPRINGS — Funeral services for Evangeline Paul, 60, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Rollie Mortuary. Brother Jimmy L. Bowling will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Paul died April 27, 2009, in Gallup. She was born April 8, 1949, in Gallup, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Paul was a homemaker.

Survivors include her brothers, Harrison Bahe of Rock Springs, Arkee Bahe of Rock Springs.

Bahe was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Paul; father, Bryan Bahe; mother, Iannie Lee Bahe; sister, Louise L. Roanhorse.

Pallbearers will be Henry F. Roanhorse Jr., Brian Carson, Ryan Roanhorse, Larrison Bahe, Jefferson Bahe, Victor Lavoto.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock Springs Chapter House, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Thornton II

MILAN — Memorial services for Robert Bruce Thornton II, 46, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be at a later date. The Rev. Clyde Clark will officiate.

Thornton died April 26, 2009, in Grants. He was born Dec. 31, 1962, in Bangor, Maine.
Thornton was a veteran of the US Marines.

Survivors include his mother, Ann MacDougal of Milan; brother, Christian Thornton of Phoenix.

Thornton was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thornton; brother, Carey Thornton; sister, Jennifer Thornton.

Mary Tso

KLAGETOH — Services for Mary Ann Tso, 55, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Catholic Church, Klagetoh. Brother John Hotstream will officiate. Burial will be in community cemetery, Klagetoh. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Tso died April 27, 2009, in Phoenix. She was born Oct. 31, 1953, in Ganado, into the Honey Comb People Clan for the Black Streak Wood People Clan.

Survivors include her sons, Lamardo Tsinajinnie, Darrin Livingston, Darrell Livingston; brother, Frank Tsinajinnie; sisters, Anna Healing, Arlene Begaye; five grandchildren.

Tso was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers; sisters.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Agnes Yazzie

HOUCK — Funeral services for Agnes S. Yazzie, 80, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Houck. The Rev. Berard Doerger, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in community cemetery, Houck. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Yazzie died April 24, 2009, in Showlow. She was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Burntwater, into the Towering House People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Yazzie was a homemaker, member of the N.A.C., and a silversmith and rugweaver. Her hobbies included watching her favorite movie Pure Country.

Survivors include her sons, Phillip R. James of Burntwater, Herman Frank of Twin Lakes, Irvin Frank of Page, Michael Yazzie of Querino Canyon; daughters, Pauline Begay of Page, Gloria Yazzie of Burntwater; sister, Ida Mae Lee of Fort Defiance; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren.

Yazzie was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Silversmith, Betty Silversmith.

Pallbearers will be Clete Begay, Cleofus Begay, Phillip Wilson Jr., Leon Tsosie, Brandon Lee, Peter Diaz II, Jasper Keedah, Gilbert R. Lee, Joey Allen and Perry Ashley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Houck Chapter House, following services.
