Diaz died May 10, 2009, in Prewitt. He was born Sept. 28, 1990, in Albuquerque.

Diaz was a Senior at Grants High School.

Eugene Poblano

RAMAH — Funeral services for Eugene Anthony Poblano, 61, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Ramah. Jerry Tietjen will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Yacca Hill, Ramah. Visitation will be 9 a.m., at the Relief Society room.

Poblano died May 9, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born May 14, 1947, in Zuni, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Corn People Clan.

Poblano attended Ramah Elementary and graduated from Ramah High School. He served in the Army, Vietnam, right after high school, 1967-1970. He joined the National Guard in 1977-1994 and was 1st Sergeant. Poblano was employed with Ramah Navajo School Board, Western Navajo Agency and was presently employed at IHS in Zuni as a Boiler Operator. “One man in a million”, was promoted to 1st Sergeant in June 1994, with the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Susie; sons, Eugene A. Poblano Jr. of Zuni, Raymond R. Poblano of Gallup, Miguel A. Poblano of Zuni; daughters, Profilia R. Poblano of Philadelphia, Miss.,Sue Bee Benally of Zuni, Michaela A. Poblano of Zuni, Nickaela R. Poblano of Zuni; mother, Janie H. Martine of Ramah; brothers, Wilbur Martine of Vanderwagen, Wendell Martine of Ramah; sisters, Maggie Martine of Ramah, Louella Poblano of Ellito, Calif., Sylvia “Cookie” Pablano of Ramah, Wrenda Pino of Ramah; two grandchildren.

Poblano was preceded in death by his father, John Poblano; grandparents, Zonnie and Jake Henio.

Pallbearers will be American Legion post 98 with New Mexico National Guard.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Ramah Chapter House, Mountain View, following services.

Dorthey Worthen

GRANTS — Services are pending for Dorthey Anna Worthen, 82.

Worthen died May 12, 2009, in Grants. She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Phoenix.

Harry Yazzie

SMITH LAKE — Funeral services for Harry Yazzie, 96, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14, at Crownpoint Assembly of God Church, Crownpoint.

The Rev. Carlos Baki will officiate. Burial will be in Santa Fe Veterans Cemetery, Santa Fe.

Yazzie died May 10, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Oct.7, 1912, in Thoreau, into the Two Who Came to the Water People Clan/Bitter Water People Clan for the Salt People Clan/Mexican People Clan.

Yazzie graduated from Albuquerque Indian School. He was a Navajo Policeman for 19 years for the Crownpoint Police Department and a Minister-Full Gospel for 26 years in Crownpoint.

Survivors include his wife, Lola N. Yazzie of Smith Lake; daughters, Carol A. Showalter of Phoenix, Betty J. Dixon of Crownpoint, Thelma M. Jonson of Tsaile, Wanda L. Wilson of Albuquerque; brother, Joe Yazzie of Thoreau; sisters, Juanita Young of Kiabeto, Mabel Morgan of Borrego Pass; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Jim, Yilth Ha Bah Barbone; sisters, Mrs. Frank Willie, Bigee bah, Goldie Jim; brothers, Tom Jim, Lee Jim, Howard Jim, Raymond Jim, Jack Jim, Don Jim.

Pallbearers will be Erin Showalter, Shontysa Joe, Brian E. Showalter, Kyle Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Christopher Dixon, Geoffrey L. Johnson, Shontysa Joe “iaia”.

MICHIGAN — Services are pending for Judge Frak B. Zinn, 88. He will be interred in Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Zinn died May 2, 2009. He was born in 1920, in Tucumcari.
