Jennifer Bryant

SAWMILL — Funeral services for Jennifer Jean Bryant, 51, will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 15, at Our Lady of the Blessed Church, Fort Defiance.

The Rev. Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Fort Defiance. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., May 15, one hour prior to services.

Bryant died May 11, 2009, in Fort Defiance. She was born April 20, 1958, in Fort Defiance, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Bryant attended Window Rock Public Schools and Ganado Schools. She worked with IHS in Warm Springs, Ore. for 36 years, then other various jobs on the reservation. She enjoyed doing bead work, word puzzles, and canvas painting.

Bryant was a very special person, being with family, friends was what she liked.

Survivors include her sons, Albert E. Bryant of Warm Springs, Ore., David Bryant of Durango, Colo.; daughter, Linda J. Bryant of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Alvin Bryant Sr. of Phoenix, Albern D. Bryant of Kayenta, Albert Bryant Jr. of Warm Springs, Larry M. Foster of Deer Springs, Melvin Foster of Fort Defiance, David M. Foster of Sawmill; sisters, Melissa R. Bryant of Farmington, Kathy Arviso of Fort Defiance, Carol A. Slinky of Fort Defiance, Mary L. Tom of Sawmill; five grandchildren.

Bryant was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Bryant, Albert Bryant Sr.; son, Leonard P. Daukei; grandparents, Eddie and Esther Teller, Mark Bryant, Ruth Wood; brother, Alfred Bryant.
Pallbearers will be Alvin D. Bryant Sr., Albert E. Bryant, Albert Bryant Jr., Albern D. Bryant, Keith S. Slinky, Irvin C. Foster.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fort Defiance Chapter, following services.

Mitchell Grice

SEATTLE — Mitchell Hale Grice, 70, died May 10, 2009, in Seattle.

Grice grew up in Fence Lake, N.M. He attended Arizona State University and had many interesting jobs from working as a chuckwagon cook, “bronco-buster”, locomotive engineer, rancher and farmer. He excelled most in being a husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Grice; children, David Grice of Pocatello, Id., Elaine Dutton of San Antonio, Joel Grice of Houston, Jeffrey Grice of Seattle; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Group Health Foundation, Dept. 4194, PO Box 34934, Seattle, Wash. 98124-1936.

Christine Pino

RAMAH — Services are pending for Christine Pino, 77.

Pino died May 12, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Pine Hill.

Pino was a longtime resident of Pine Hill.
A family gathering will be 6 p.m., Friday, May 15, at Ramah Chapter, Mountain View, N.M.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Dorthey Worthen

GRANTS — Services for Dorthey Anna Worthen, 82, will be 1 p.m., May 15, at First Baptist Church, Grants. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Hugh Roger will officiate. Visitation will be 7 p.m., tonight, May 14, at Compassion Mortuary.

Worthen died May 12, 2009, in Grants. She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Phoenix.

Worthen graduated from Grants Union High in 1943. She worked 33 years as Secretary of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her work as a Literacy Volunteer and English as a second language.

Survivors include her sons, Dee Worthen, of Grants, Kerry James Worthen of Milan, Leroy Worthen of Greeley, Colo., Donald Jack Worthen of Grants, Bo Worthen of Meridian, Idaho; daughters, Sherry Estes of Green River, Wy., Valerie Sue Ricca of Grants, Elaine Garlow of Grants; brother, Melvin Heath of Grants; 31 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Worthen was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Worthen; parents, Thomas Leroy Heath, Viola Marie Oliver Heath.

Pallbearers will be Michael Estes, Christopher Worthen, Cody Worthen, Doug Worthen, Zachery Worthen, Marcus Bundrant, Eric Worthen, Allan Garlow.
