Aurora Martinez
GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Aurora L. Martinez, 92, will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 22, at St. Teresa Catholic Church. The Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park.
The Knights of Columbus 4th degree will provide an honor guard. Visitation will be 6 p.m., tonight, May 21, at St. Teresa Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, by Los Hermonos de la Santisima Trinidad de la Santa Cruz.
Martinez died May 18, 2009, in Grants. She was born April 10, 1917, in Ojo Sarco, N.M.
Martinez was a member of the St. Teresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Joe Martinez of Albuquerque, Mike Martinez of Grants, Ernest Martinez of Edgewood, Louie Martinez of Espanola, Freddie Martinez of Albuquerque, Johnny Martinez of Espanola; daughters, Ernestine Duran of Minturn, Colo., Bernice Ramirez of Grants, Lucy Ramirez of Albuquerque; brother, Adolfo Lopez Jr. of Chamisal; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Silviano Martinez; sons, Ray Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Elmer Martinez; parents, Adolfo Lopez, Vidalita Maestas Lopez; brother, Vergililo Lopez; sisters, Cornelia Sandoval, Olivama Lopez; two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Ramirez, Chris Martinez, Erick Martinez, Henry Martinez, Toby Ramirez, John Martinez, Fernando Ramirez, George Ramirez.

Joseph Merrill Jr.
TEMPE — Services for Joseph Merrill Jr., 22, will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 22, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Mike Kleeberger will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.
Merrill died April 30, 2009, in Grand Canyon. He was born Sept. 30, 1986, in Smithtown, N.M.
Merrill had a bachelors degree in Bible with an emphasis in missions post-humously from International Baptist College, Tempe.
Survivors include his parents, Joseph and Geraldine Merrill; brothers, Mark Merrill, George Merrill; sisters, Katelyn Merrill, Carmella Merrill, Sarah Merrill; grandfather, Frank Dyer.
Merrill was preceded in death by Carmella Manek, Jeanette Dyer.
Pallbearers will be family and church members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gallup, following services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joseph Scholarship class of International Baptist College, 2150 E. Southern Ave., Tempe, Ariz. 85282.

Dion Roy
LUKACHUKAI — Funeral services for Dion Dean Roy, 19, will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 22, at St. Isabel, Lukachukai. Burial will be in Lukachukai Community Cemetery. Visitation will one hour prior to services.
Roy was born Jan. 22, 1990, in Chinle, into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Big Water People Clan.
Roy attended Red Mesa High School and Hartshorse High. He was a basketball player in Oklahoma.
Survivors include his parents, Archie Roy Jr., Elsie A. Howell, Gordon Howell, of Lukachukai; brothers, Buddy Roy, Kevin Roy, of Lukachukai, Jeffrey Roy, Terry Roy of Lukachukai; sisters, Rose M. Begay, Chelsie Roy, Merriel Howell, of Lukachukai, Anita Roy of Phoenix.
Roy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Ann Roy.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Roy, Archie Roy Jr., Timothy Roy, Jose Lucas, Harrell Benally, Bruce Nez.

RED ROCK — Services are pending for Miriam J. Woods, 88.
Woods died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in Grants. She was born March 25, 1921, in St. Michaels.
