Ned Becenti Sr.

CROWNPOINT — Funeral service for Ned E. Becenti Sr., 93, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Finnegan will officiate. Burial will be in Crownpoint Community Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 10 a.m., May 26, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Becenti died May 21, 2009, in Farmington. He was born April 17, 1916, in Hosta Butte, N.M., into the Towering House People Clan for the Over Hanging Rock People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Ned E. Becenti Jr., Abel E. Becenti, Emmett O. Becenti; daughters, Donna M. Becenti, Priscilla Becenti Plimpton; sisters, Minnie Becenti, Elsie C. Cowboy; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Becenti was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Becenti; wife, Louise C. Becenti; sisters, Flora Christensen, Ruth Becenti; brother, Hank Becenti.

Pallbearers will be Kevin R. Becenti, Emmett O. Becenti, Ned E. Becenti Jr., Malcolm E. Becenti, Erik N. Becenti, Tyrone J. Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Paul’s Parish Hall, Crownpoint, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

John Brown Jr.

CHINLE — Funeral services for John Brown Jr., 88, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church Stake Center, Chinle. Ed McCombs will officiate. Burial will be in family ranch, Crystal. Viewing will be 9 a.m., at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church.

Brown was born into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Red Streak Running Into the Water People Clan.

Survivors include his wife, Loncie Polocca Brown; sons, Preston Brown, Virgil Brown, Everett Brown, Frank Brown; daughters, Bernice Brown, Katherine Brown; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.

Brown was preceded in death by his son, Dale Brown; daughter, Ruth McCombs; parents, John Brown Sr., Nanaba Bia Begay.

Pallbearers will be Preston Brown, Frank Brown, Brian Brown, Virgil Brown, Ed McCombs, Winston Brown.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Crystal Chapter House, following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to John Brown Jr. Memorial Fund at any Bank of America.
