Deaths

Regina Bitsue

GALLUP — Funeral services for Regina Rose Bitsue, 56, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Vanderwagon. Burial will be in family land.

Bitue died May 27, 2009, in Gallup. She was born June 16, 1952, in Shiprock, into the Waters Edge People Clan for the Bead People Clan.

Bitsue graduated from Gallup High School and attended Goodwill Industries in Phoenix and graduated from Whiting Business College in Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed with Cigna Medical Group, Motorola Inc., Indian Health Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Her hobbies included beadwork, listening to music, going to the movies and spending time with her children and grandchild.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Nokai Bitsue; sons, Alvin N. Bitsue, Kevin N. Bitsue, both of Phoenix, Jerold Benally of Chinle; daughters, Kristina N. Bitsue of Gallup, Sharilyn N. Bitsue of Phoenix; mother, Bessie Arthur Nez; brothers, Darrell Nez of Albuquerque, Delbert Nez of Oak Canyon, Leonard Nez Jr. of Albuquerque, Damon Nez of Cousins, Ernest Sanisya Jr. of Shiprock; sisters, Zarah Sanisya of Shiprock, Ernestine Sanisya of Shiprock, Janet Sanisya of Norman, Okla., Gloria Sanisya of Shiprock, Zorina Sanisya of Shiprock; one grandchild.

Bitsue was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Sanisya Sr.; step-father, Leonard Nez Sr.; brothers, Lance Sanisya, Ronald Nez; grandmother, Mary Smith.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Bitsue, Kevin Bitsue, Leonard Nez Jr., Darrell Nez, Delbert Nez, Damon Nez, Ernest Sanisya Jr., Samuel Sanisya Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Helen Skeet’s residence, Cousins, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Livingston

BREADSPRINGS — Funeral services for Ralph Livingston, 92, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, at Church of God Holiness, Breadsprings.

Evangelist Jake Yazzie Jr., will officiate. Burial will be in family plot. Visitation will be at the church.

Livingston died May 28, 2009, in Gallup. He was born June 10, 1916, in Breadsprings, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Livingston was a Chapter official, gospel ministry, rancher, housemanship, and worked on Pacific Railroad. He loved hunting, loved his children and grandchildren and family. He enjoyed trips to Colorado and Grand Canyon with the whole family. He was a humble person.

Survivors include his sons, Wilbert Livingston of Pinehill, James Livingston of Breadsprings; daughters, Lena L. Davis of Pinehaven, Elizabeth Hunt of Breadsprings, Lillie L. Yazzie of Breadsprings, Martha L. Francisco of Breadsprings; brother, Leo Livingston of Coyote Canyon; sisters, Nellie L. Pinto, Annie L. Pinto, both of Breadsprings; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Livingston was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn T. Livingston; sons, Paul Livingston, Peter Livingston, Nelson Livingston, Richard Livingston, Lorenzo Livingston; parents, Fred and Francis Livingston; two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lamuel Yazzie, Emmnauel Yazzie, Felix Yazzie, Ronald Livingston, Jerome Yazzie, George Teller.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Church of God Holiness, Breadsprings, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
