Tylor Chee
ROCK SPRINGS — Funeral services for Tylor Adam Chee, 14, will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 8, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Gallup. The Rev. Matthew Keller will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 8-9:30 a.m.,Monday, June 8, at Rollie Mortuary Chapel.
Chee died June 3, 2009, in Gallup. He was born March 16, 1995, in Gallup, into the Tangle People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Chee was in the 7th grade at Chief Manuelito Middle School. He played youth football for 6 straight years and was currently playing baseball for the Gallup Rays. He was very artistic and creative and enjoyed playing Xbox 360. Chee enjoyed listening to music, fishing, hiking and camping.
Survivors include his parents, Dewayne Chee, Patricia Chee, of Rock Springs; brother, Loren Tom Chee of Rock Springs; sisters, Summer E. Chee, Raeanna H. Chee, both of Rock Springs; grandparents, Peterson B. Yazzie, Isabelle S. Yazzie, both of Tohatchi, Laura Chee of Yahtahey.
Chee was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Chee.
Pallbearers will be Roland Bahe Jr., Julian Morgan, Loren T. Chee, Blaine B. Yazzie, Ken Jay Yazzie, Marvin Duncan.
The family will meet at Rock Springs NHA House #44.The family will receive relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Cathedral Family Center, following services.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Helen Hay
WYOMING — Funeral services for Helen Edna Hay, 91, were 2 p.m., Saturday, June 6, at Gorman Funeral Homes Platte Chapel, Wheatland, Wyo. The Rev. Andy Gudahl officiated. Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 8, in the Greenhill Cemetery at Laramie, Wyo.
Hay died Wednesday, June 3, 2009,in Wheatland. She was born November 18, 1917, in Fort Collins, Colo.
Hay grew up on a ranch on the South Sybille. She graduated from Laramie High School in 1935 and cum laude from the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in 1939. Later she received her M.A. from Denver University. Hay started her teaching career in Lusk, Wyo. and later taught in Cheyenne. At the start of WWII she became a personnel counselor in the War Department at Ft. Warren and then at the Port of Embarkation in New Orleans. After the war, she moved to Denver and resumed her career in education as a teacher, principal, and reading specialist. Helen was chairman of many committees with the Denver Classroom Teacher’s Association, Colorado Education Association, and the National Education Association. She was chairman of an N.E.A. Investigative Team that studied and reported on the schools in Erie, Pennsylvania and east Texas. She enjoyed art, gardening, and travel.
Survivors include a sister, Edith Gonzales of Gallup.
Hay was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander “Scotty” and Edna Lois (Metcalf) Hay; brothers, Alexander Hay Jr., Gordon Hay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
