Earl Birch Sr.

HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. — Earl Birch Sr., died May 22, 2009, in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

Birch served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He and his wife would have celebrated their 59th anniversary on May 26.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Villanueva Brich; son, Tom Birch of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; daughter, Leona Van Winkle of San Ramone, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Birch was preceded in death by his parents; brother; sisters.

Joe Cambridge Sr.

SHIPROCK — Services are pending for Joe Cambridge Sr., 54.

Cambridge died June 6, 2009, in Farmington. He was born June 20, 1954, in Fort Defiance.

Desert View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Corine Chaidez

NORWALK, Calif. — Corine Chaidez, 72, was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress, Calif.

Chaidez died May 19, 2009, in Norwalk. She was born Nov. 4, 1936, in Gallup.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah, Laura, Diana; mother; brother; sister; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Leanndra Nez

COYOTE CANYON — Services are pending for Leanndra Dawn Nez, 16.

Nez died Saturday, June 6, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Sept. 7, 1992, in Gallup, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Red Forehead People Clan.

Michelle Thompson

THOREAU — Funeral services for Michelle Thompson, 37, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, at the LDS Church, Thoreau. Burial will be in Thoreau Cemetery, Thoreau.

Thompson died May 31, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Sept. 2, 1970, in Albuquerque, into the Salt People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.

Thompson was born and raised in Albuquerque.

She attended school in Albuquerque and was in the process of enrolling in beauty college. She was a proud mother of two beautiful children, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, eating Mexican food, and cooking. Thompson will be missed by all.

Survivors include her son, Brandon Lee Thompson of Albuquerque; daughter, Tammra Keyana Newton of Albuquerque; mother, Betty Mae Kien Thompson of Albuquerque; brother, Michael Garrett Romero of Albuquerque; sisters, Stephanie Joan Romero of Albuquerque.

Thompson was preceded in death by her father, Ernest J. Thompson; grandparents, Rachel C. Thompson, Jakc Thompson, Frances Mariano Kien Tom, Frank Tom; sister, Pamela Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Michael Romero, Shawn Ramone, Robert Ruize, David Castillo, Nicholas McCleary, Raymus Mason.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Chapter House, Thoreau, following services.
