Wallace Davis

SHIPROCK — Funeral services for Wallace D. Davis, 69, will be 10 a.m., June 18, at Ryder Memorial Chapel, Farmington. The Rev. Fred Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in family cemetery, Burnham, N.M.

Davis died June 14, 2009, in Zuni Pueblo. He was born Feb. 6, 1940, in Burnham, into the Ute People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Davis graduated from Navajo Methodist Mission High School and Fort Lewis College. He worked at NN Headstart, NECA, Council Delegate for 24 years and Choyter Prez. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Davis had many awards.

Survivors include his sons, Waldo Eric Davis, Gilbert Sanchez Jr.; daughter, Diana Ruth Davis; mother, Nellie Davis; brother, Albert Davis; sisters, Geneva Davis, Joanna Silversmith, Lynda Davis, Luci Davis.

Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Luvena Lasiloo Davis; father, David Davis.

Pallbearers will be Waylon Jim, Mychal Davis, Eric Jim, Sean Booqua, Gilbert Sanchez Jr., Nathan Silversmith.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Burnham Chapter House, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Johnnie Freeland

CROWNPOINT — Services for Johnnie Ross Freeland, 48, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 18, at Crownpoint Christian Reformed Church. Burial will be at Crownpoint Community Cemetery. The Rev. Gordon Stuit will officiate.

Freeland died June 14, 2009, in Crownpoint. He was born May 12, 1961, in Gallup, into the Big Roadrunner for the Two Who Came to the Water People Clan.

Freeland attended Rehoboth Christian School and TVI and Navajo Skill Center. He worked for Bashas for 18 years.

Survivors include his mother, Bernice Freeland of Crownpoint; sister, Amanda Freeland of Crownpoint; brothers, Fredrick Freeland, Randy Freeland, both of Crownpoint..

Freeland was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Ross Freeland Sr.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Ahasteen, Steve Ahasteen, MJ Kelsey Jr., Jerry Elwood, Brian Elwood, Edward Elwood, Murray House, Allen Elwood.

Marie Morgan

TWO WELLS — Services for Marie Morgan, 85, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 18, at Little Sisters of the Poor, Gallup. visitation will be one hour prior to services. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, June 17, at Little Sisters of the Poor.

Morgan died June 13, 2009. she was born June 21, 1923.

Morgan married John Morgan on Aug. 3, 1942, at St. Johns Catholic Church, Houck.

Survivors include her children, Carol/Cecil Sherman, Texas, Doris Morgan/Johnson of Gallup, Amelia Johnson/Dan David/Bessie, of Chichiltah, Garnet Morgan of Two Wells, Chavez Morgan/Elizabeth of Jones Ranch; sisters, Alice Begay of Pinedale, Dianna Begay of Mariano Lake; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren.

Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Zonnie Francisco; sister, Christine Martin; step children; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; husband, John Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Mike Dobbs, Marcus Morgan, Darrell Johnson, Kenny Morgan, Douglas Morgan, Cody Peterson.

Betty Yazzie

COOLIDGE — Funeral services for Betty Ann Yazzie, 56, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 18, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in family plot, Rock Springs.

Yazzie died June 12, 2009, in Gallup. She was born June 1, 1953, in Gallup, into the Sagebrush Hill People Clan for the Start of the Red Streak People Clan.

Yazzie went to school at Tso Bonito. She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included crocheting, bead work, spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Roger H. Yazzie of Coolidge; daughter, Delmae Ann Yazzie of Coolidge; brothers, Tommy of Mexican Springs, Alfred, Benjamie, Daniel, Roger, all of Rock Springs; sister, Lerora Leupp.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his his parents, Tom and Emma C. Mike; brothers, Kenneth C. Mike, Jack C. Mike.

Pallbearers will be Tommy, Alfred, Benjamie, Daniel, Roger

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock Springs Chapter House, following services.

Marlene Yazzie

GANADO — Services for Marlene Marie Yazzie, 48, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 18, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Ganado.

President Erwin White will officiate. Burial will be in community cemetery, Ganado.Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Yazzie died June 13, 2009, in Peoria. She was born July 13, 1960, in Ganado, into the Mexican People clan for the One who Walks Around People clan.

Yazzie attended school in Orem, Utah, with the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Placement Program and was a homemaker. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, cooking, and making jokes with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Neil Yazzie of Page; daughters, Cynthia Yazzie of California, Vanessa Yazzie, Kimberly Yazzie, both of Page; brothers, Gilbert James of Steamboat, Lorenzo R. James, Eugene R. James, both of Ganado; seven grandchildren.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sadie James; sister, Marilyn James; brothers, Wallace James, Clarence James Jr.; sister, Clarcy R. James.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert R. James, Lorenzo R. James, Eugene R. James, Harlan James.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Kinlichee Chapter House, following services.
