Richard Holtsoi

CHINLE — Services for Richard Roy Holtsoi, 54, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 20, at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Chinle. Burial will be 7 miles southwest of Spider Rock Jct. Visitation will be 9 a.m., at Chinle Catholic Church.

Holtsoi died June 15, 2009, in Chinle. He was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Chinle, into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Holtsoi graduated High School, Many Farms High and briefly attended Dine College (formerly NCC). He received a certificate in Diagnostic imaging at Brymon School in Phoenix.

Survivors include his sons, Shaun Spencer, Orlando Spencer; mother, Roselyn Hunter; brothers, Thomas Hunter, Joseph Hunter, John Hunter; sisters, Eunice Zephier, Ethelyn Moccasin, Lorraine Littlebear, Chris Robbins, Ruby Hunter; two grandchildren.

Holtsoi was preceded in death by his father, Tom Hunter.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 7 1/2 miles southwest of Spider Rock Jct.

Robert Kocsis

GALLUP — Services are pending for Robert Lee Kocsis, 77.

Kocsis died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Gallup. He was born May 1, 1932, in Gallup.

Laura Long

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Laura A. Long-Peshlakai, 40, will be 10 a.m., June 19, at Good Shepherd Mission, Fort Defiance. Burial will be in community cemetery, Fort Defiance.

Long died June 15, 2009, in Fort Defiance. She was born July 9, 1968, in Fort Defiance, into the Keeyonie People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Long graduated for Window Rock High, 2 years UNM, 1 year Phoenix College. She was employed with Window rock School District for 14 years as a day care provider, security and with building and grounds and St. Michaels Special Education General Store.

Survivors include her sons, Steven Peshlakai, Kevin Milford; daughters, Stacey and Shelby Peshlakai; mother, Irene Long; sister, Erica Long; grandmother, Sarah Long.

Long was preceded in death by her father, David Long.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Nelson and Sarah Long residence 1 1/4 mile south of Fort Defiance Chapter House.

Susan Madey

GALLUP — Services for Susan Madey, 64, were 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, at St. Francis Church, Gallup. Visitation was 7 p.m., June 16, at Cope Memorial Chapel. A rosary was recited 7 p.m., June 16, at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Madey died June 13, 2009. She was born April 7, 1945, in Gallup.

Madey lived her life giving rather than receiving. She loved cooking, baking, and helping people. She loved being with her family, compassionate, sincerely forward, non-judgmental, and quick to forgive. Madey was an inspiring woman to all of her family and friends and her compassionate ways of living will continue in the hearts and lives of all the people she touched.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Madey; sons, Alfredo DuBois, Antonio DuBois, Robert Gallegos; daughters, Bernadette DuBois-Munoz, Nicki Rascon, Mercedes Dalton; sisters, Margaret R. Moreno, Sally J. Gallegos, Theresa Trujillo; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Madey was preceded in death by her parents, Prudencio and Sally Gallegos; brothers, Daniel Gallegos, Salvador Gallegos; sister, Margaret Gallegos; son, Joseph Nanez.

Pallbearers were Alfredo DuBois, Phillip DuBois, Robert Cupp, John Trujillo, Joe Suarez IV, Jose Romero.

Lorenzo Sanchez

GALLUP — Services for Lorenzo Lujan Sanchez, 86, will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Viewing will be 9 a.m., Friday, June 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Sanchez died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Winslow.

Fredrick Watson

ROCK SPRINGS — Funeral services for Fredrick “Kelly” Watson, 32, will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 19, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Gerald Lawton will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Gallup.

Watson died June 9, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born July 23, 1976, in Gallup, into the Black Streak People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Watson attended Tse Bonito Elementary and Gallup High School. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was funny, outgoing and liked to joke around. Watson was friendly to everyone, everyone enjoyed his company. He worked at various places in Albuquerque and Gallup.

Survivors include his father, Nellie Watson of Rock Springs; brother, Hendrick Watson of Rock Springs; sister, Ora Watson of Rock Springs; grandmother, Ella Long of Rock Springs.

Watson was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Watson.

Pallbearers will be Emmitt Charley, Jeffrey Miller, Maynard Miller, Farrell Brown, Peter Long.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rocksprings Chapter, following services.
