Bonnie Benally

GALLUP — Servicesf or Bonnie Whitehorse Benally, 62, were 10 a.m., today, June 19, at the Christian Reform Church, Gallup. Howard Begay officiated. Visitation was at Christian Reformed Church.

Bonnie died in Phoenix. She was born Oct. 12, 1946, in Whitehorse Lake area.

Benally graduated from Intermountain High School. She worked at Stanford University as a Dietician.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Benally; sons, Ronny Benally of Phoenix, Antonio Benally of Phoenix; daughters, Penny Taufetee of Tracy, Calif, Michelle L. Benally of Phoenix, Debbie Benally of Phoenix; mother, Delia Whitehorse of Whitehorse Lake; brother, Levy Whitehorse of Los Lunas; sisters, Rosita Gibbs of Albuquerque, Marie Chato of Gallup; 10 grandchildren.

Benally was preceded in death by her father, John Whitehorse; brother, Andy Whitehorse; sister, Anita Tennison.

Pallbearers will be Ronny Benally, Antonio Benally, Alvin Gibbs, Alatina Taufetee, Tillmen J. Smart, Andy Begay.

Dennison King

IDAHO — Traditional wake for Dennison King Jr., 31, will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, in family land. Private burial will be in family plot, Wide Ruins (Juniper Hill, Cedar Ridge), Ariz. The Rev. Daniel Martin will officiate.

King died June 13, 2009, in Idaho. He was born March 6, 1978, into the Water People Clan for the Black Streaked People Clan.

King attended high school in Burley, Idaho. He lived in Idaho from 1989 to 2009. He had various jobs and worked as a UPS driver.

Survivors include his sons, Xander, Braxton, Alexavier, Xoren; mother, Lucind Faye Martin; brothers, Glen Burnside, Daniel Martin, Darvin Attikie, Brandon Martin; sisters, Lorena Martin, Channelle Ashley, Telena Ashley; grandmother, Alice Burnside.

King was preceded in death by his father, Dennison King Sr.; grandfather, Frank Burnside Sr.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Ashley, Darvin Attakai, Sophina Burnside, Marcos Mares, Brandon Martin, Devin Tabaha.

The family received relatives and friends at Alice Burnside residence, Hwy. 191, Pine Spring Rd. House # 308 C, Wide Ruins (Juniper Hill, Cedar Ridge), following services. The family met 6:30 p.m., June 17-18, at Houck Chapter House, and will meet 6:30 p.m., tonight, June 19, at Wide Ruins Chapter.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lorenzo Sanchez

GALLUP — Services for Lorenzo Lujan Sanchez, 86, were 9:30 a.m., today, June 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Viewing was 9 a.m., today, June 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park.

Sanchez died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Winslow.

Sanchez served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946, as a radio operator in the 13th Armored Division and upon returning to civilian life continued his career with the Santa Fe railroad until his retirement after 44 years of service. He lived his life as a dedicated family man always leading by example.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Sanchez of Gallup; daughters, Gloria S. Garcia of Albuquerque, Dolores S. Aragon of Los Lunas; brothers, Robert Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez; sisters, Beatrice Galvan, Margaret Mazza; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Sanchez was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores J. Sanchez; parents, Eulallo and Antonia Sanchez; sisters, Charlotte Monsegur, Helen Ortega.

Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
