Dorene Jim
LUKACHUKAI — Funeral services for Dorene Kaye Jim, 44, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, at St. Isabel Mission, Lukachukai. The Rev. Blane Grein will officiate. Burial will be in Lukachukai Community Cemetery.
Jim died July 2, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born May 14, 1965, in Morenci, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Yucca Fruit-Strung out in a line People Clan.
Jim graduated from Chinle High School in 1983, and attended University of Arizona from 1986-1987, Navajo Community College and got her AA degree in Liberal Arts and General Studies in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Jefferson John of Lukachukai; sons, Darren A. Jim, Jeffrey John, Cody John, all of Lukachukai; daughter, Elisa R. John of Lukachukai; father, Leo A. Jim of Lukachukai; brother, Gary E. Jim of Phoenix; sisters, Emma J. Tully of Chinle, Lorene (L.A.) Jim of Lukachukai.
Jim was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie R. Jim.
Pallbearers will be Randy Claw, Jeff John, Lathan Yellowman, Myron Staley, Lemanuel Yellowman, Travis James.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Leo Jim’s residence 6 p.m., 3.3 NW of Lukachukai Mustang Store.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Clarene Worthen
GRANTS — Services for Clarence Albert Worthen, 80 will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 6, at Compassion Mortuary. The Rev. Lonnie Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park.Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday, July 5, at Compassion Mortuary.
Worthen died July 1, 2009. He was born on Dec. 1, 1928, in Jayton, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Erma Worthen of Grants; children , Larry Worthen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Beverly Blackwell of Glendale, Delbert Worthen of Gallup and Bloomfield, Deede Bradshaw of Grants; brother, Clint Worthen of Grants; sisters, Laura Mae Barnes of Albuquerque, Maudine Polk of Slaton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Worthen was preceded in death by his parents, Obie Worthen and Maude Susan Johnson Worthen; brothers; sisters.
Pallbearers will be Brad Blackwell, Charles Blackwell, Jacob Bradshaw, Todd Worthen, Dee Worthen, Jerry Wilcox.
