CHINLE — Services are pending for May Ann Claw, 89.
Claw died Friday, July 10, in Flagstaff. She was born into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Water Flows Together People Clan.
A gathering will be 6 p.m., nightly at Council Delegate Harry Claw’s residence, 4 1/2 miles north of Chinle Bashas’.
RED ROCK — Funeral services for Julia Tom, 91, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Tom died July 10, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Red Rock, into the Black Streak Forest People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.
Tom was a lifelong homemaker. She liked to bead, sew and weave. She was a member of the Native American Church and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Peter Tom of Gallup, Nabito Tom of Gallup, Stanley Tom of Pine Haven, David Tom of Edgewood, Emmette Tom of Tempe, Robertson Tom of Gallup, Alejandro Tom of Red Rock, Farryl Benson of Albuquerque; daughters, Eljeannie Roy of Red Rock, Evelyn Chavez of To’hajiilee, Carol A. Dolan of Los Lunas; brothers, Johnny Morgan of Red Rock, Dennis Morgan of Haystack, Curtis Morgan of Albuquerque; sister, Esther Skeets of Red Rock; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by her husband, Nabete Tom; brothers, John Morgan, William Morgan, Thomas Morgan; sisters, Alice Begay, Sarah Billie; parents, Bah Morgan, Joe Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Tom, Myron Morgan, Farryl Benson, Justin Tom, Cyrus Tom, Shane Tom.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Red Rock, following services.
