GALLUP — Elizabeth “Libby” Thomas, the Zuni assistant superintendent of student learning and embattled Superintendent Kaye L. Peery’s domestic partner, repeatedly denied she engaged in abusive behavior toward school staff or ever shouted “be quiet, sit down and shut up” at a meeting for the district’s principals.

“I don’t recall those exact words ... “ Thomas said at Saturday’s portion of the administrative hearing. “I don’t remember getting upset and telling someone to shut up.”
