Dan Betom

PINEDALE — Funeral services for Dan Betom, 80, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup. Visitation will be today, Dec. 7, at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Betom died Dec. 3, 2009, in Pinedale. He was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Smoke Signal, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Tobacco People Clan.

Betom worked for the Railroad for 25 years then retired. He was a livestock rancher and traditional medicine man.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Betom; sons, Phillip Betom of Iyanbito, Daniel Betom of Black Mesa; daughters, Helen Betom of Smoke Signal, Evelyn Betom of Tuba City, Lena Betom of Smoke Signal, Linda Betom of Smoke Signal, Susie Betom of Smoke Signal, Sadie Betom; brothers, Charlie Tsosie of Pinedale, John Nelson of Toajiilee, Nelson Tsosie of Smoke Signal, Henry Betom of San Carlos, Jiam Betom of Blue Gap, Jarb Betom of Smoke Signal; sisters, Mary Tsosie Betom, Mary Betom.

Betom was preceded in death by his parents, Hoslien Betom, Ellen Betom; brother, Tom Betom.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Mace

TORREON — Services for Juanita S. Mace, 80, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Tinian Baptist Church, Torreon. Burial will be in Torreon Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Dec. 8, at Tinion Baptist Church.

Mace died in Albuquerque. She was born in Torreon, into the Tangle People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Mace was preceded in death by her husband, John Mace; parents, Felipe and Mary Sandoval; brothers, Juan Sandoval, Art Sandoval, Franklin Sandoval, Kee Sandoval; sister, Shirley Castillo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Torreon Chapter House, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Majorie Smith

TSEYATOH — Services are pending for Majorie Smith, 53.

Smith died Dec. 4, 2009, in Gallup. She was born March 2, 1956, in Gallup.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Grace B. Tsosie

GALLUP — Services for Grace B. Tsosie, 82, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Christian Center (The Door). The Rev. Artie Aragon will officiate. Private disposition will be at a later date.

Tsosie died Dec. 3, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Rehoboth.

Tsosie was a devoted member of the Christian Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed.

Survivors include her daughters, Bernice L. Tsosie of Gallup, Marie J. Martinez of Gallup, Margaret R. Charlie of Sundance, Katherine Craig of Gallup, Delores Delgarito of Gallup, Irene Begody of Gallup, Lena Hallup of Gallup, Alyda Hale of Gallup; sons, Calvin Tsosie Sr. of Gallup, Ervin Tsosie of Gallup, David Tsosie of Tempe; step-children, Ed Cyrs of Gallup, Vera Gomez of Taos, Gene Natani of Gallup, Rosemary Talk of Gallup, Melvin Tsosie of Vancouver, Wash., Belva Marcum of Texas, Enda Mae Quintana; sisters, Naomi Becenti of Gallup, Eunice Cunejo of Gallup; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Tsosie was preceded in death by her husband, Naswoot B. Tsosie; parents, Ed Becenti, Hattie Green Becenti; daughter, Annie Charlie; stepchildren, Alton Charlie, Lillian Hudson, Sharon Talk.
