WINDOW ROCK — The federal Bureau of Indian Affairs has withdrawn a biological assessment of the proposed Desert Rock Energy Project, according to N.M. Gov. Bill Richardson, who on Friday applauded the move.

The withdrawal follows a September 2009 decision by the U.S. Environmental Appeals Board to remand the air quality permit for the Desert Rock facility to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
