Edison Joe

TWIN LAKES — Funeral services are pending for Edison A. Joe, 72.

Joe died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, in Gallup. He was born May 10, 1937, in Twin Lakes, into the Red House People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

A meeting for friends and family will be 6 p.m., tonight, Jan. 8, at Twin Lakes Chapter House.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Angelita Johnson

GRANTS — Funeral services for Angelita Bebo Johnson, 37, were 10 a.m., today, Jan. 8, at Temple of Peace, Milan. The Rev. Clyde Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Smith Lake Cemetery.

Johnson died Jan. 3, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 11, 1972, in Albuquerque, into the Zia People Clan for the Black Streak People Clan.

Johnson attended various school from K-11th grade. She started working various places as a housekeeper and self-employment as an artifact artisan. She was loved by many and never known to have an enemy.

Survivors include her daughter, Audrey Johnson of Grants; parents, Eddie and Angie Chaco of Tohajiilee; brothers, Shane Bebo of Grants, Randy Enrico of Prewitt, Eddie Chaco Jr., of Tohajiilee, John Chaco of Tohajiilee, Antonio Chaco of Torreon; sisters, Ancita Cayaditto of Torreon, Ellen J. Chaco of Tohajiilee, Anne Chaco of Tohajiilee, Renee Natan of Pinehill; grandmother, Annie J. Lister of Prewitt; two grandchildren.

Johnson was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dickie and Grace Mexicano; father, James Kirk Bebo; broth, Kevin Ed Chaco; sister, Ovilia Rose Chaco; son, Curtis Kirk Johnson.

Pallbearers were Randy Enrico, John Chaco, Eddie Chaco Jr., Antonio Chaco, Randall Cayaditto, Michael Cayaditto, Gilson Cayaditto, Zachary Black.

The family received relatives and friends at Baca Chapter House, Prewitt, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Genevieve Yazzie

TWIN LAKES — Memorial services for Genevieve Haley Yazzie, 49, will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Free Trinity Church, Tohlakai. The Rev. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in family land, Twin Lakes.

Yazzie died Jan. 1, 2010, in Flagstaff. She was born May 3, 1960, in Gallup, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Ute People Clan.

Yazzie was a homemaker and lived in Tiwn Lakes while attending school. She moved to Flagstaff and raised her family. She worked at various jobs, loved animals, enjoyed various types of music and was a kind and loving person who was always willing to help others.

Survivors include her husband, Freeland Yazzie; sons, Sherman Yazzie, Levi Yazzie of Flagstaff; brothers, Benjamin Haley, Presley Haley, both of Twin Lakes; sisters, Thelda Haley-Tiepelman of Mount Vernon, Wash., Vergean Haley of Mariano Lake, Clara Haley-Warren of Gallup.

Yazzie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Haley Sr., Annie Mae Etsitty.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter House, following services.

Nesbah Yazzie

NAVAJO — Funeral services for Nesbah C. Yazzie, 90, will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup.

Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Yazzie died Jan. 6, 2010. She was born Jan. 6, 1920, in Navajo, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red Streak into Water People Clan.

Yazzie went to Albuquerque Bureau of Indian Affairs High School, BIA School in Fort Defiance.

She worked as a cook at Good Shephard Mission. Most of her life she was a homemaker, rancher and Navajo Weaver. She also served as Red Lake Chapter Secretary for three terms.

Survivors include her son, Albert A.Yazzie of Gallup; daughter, Marilyn Litson of Mesa; father, Sam Catron of Navajo.

Yazzie was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Yazzie; sons, Jerry H. Yazzie, John Yazzie Sr.; daughters, Peggy McClanahan, Judy D. Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Yazzie, Jonathan McClanahan, Levi Big Goose, Duane Yazzie, Timothy Yazzie, Brian Hardy.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Furr’s, Gallup, following services. Must pay for own meals.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
