David McArthur II
VIRGINIA BEACH — David Livingstone McArthur II, 65, died June 12, 2011, in Virginia Beach. He was born April 8, 1946, in Alamogordo.
McArthur attended school in Gallup. He played football for Gallup High and was also a member of the band. He graduated in 1964. He earned a degree in biology from the University of New Mexico in 1968, and then attended Baylor Dental School, graduating with a DD in 1972. He joined the U.S. Army and practiced as a dentist at bases in Thailand, Germany and South Korea, before returning to the U.S. and practicing at the Pentagon. After retiring from the army as a Lt. Colonel, he practiced for a short time in Kileen, Texas, before moving to Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Sharry; daughter, Brandi Key; sisters, Jean McArthur Bowman, Katherine McArthur Enns; two grandchildren.
McArthur was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Smith McArthur, David Livingstone McArthur; grandparents, William and Gertrude Smith, William and Anna McArthur.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Destin Nez
TUCSON — Graveside services for Destin D. Nez, 6, will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 20, at Jeddito Community Cemetery, Jeddito. The Rev. Raymond Whitehair Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Jeddito Community Cemetery.
Nez died June 13, 2011, in Tucson. He was born May 3, 2005, in Phoenix, into the Towering House People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Nez attended Sunrise Drive Elementary School, Tucson. Nez was known as a smart/outgoing kid who had artisitc, creative and imaginative skills. He was an avid skateboarder, swimmer, golfer and loved to free-style dance.
Survivors include his parents, Dominic Nez, Tonya Begay, both of Tucson; brother, Devin Nez of Tucson; grandparents, Arlene Begay of Low Mountain, Duane Nez of Gallup, Dorothy Tsosie of White Clay.
Nez was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sam Pete Begay; great-grandparents, John J. and Pauline Zah Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Tsosie, Dion Nez, Christopher Todechine, Artimis Jim.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
