Jordan J. Antonio
CRYSTAL — Services for Jordan J. Antonio, 16 months, will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house in Crystal. Hondo Louis will officiate. Burial will be in Begay family Cemetery.
Antonio died Sept. 25, 2011, in Gallup. He was born May 18, 2010, in Fort Defiance into the Near the Water People Clan born for the Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running into the Water People Clan.
Survivors include his parents Geno Antonio and Houston Begay; brother Jaquan Antonio and grandmothers Grace Jones and Sharon Begay. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Jerry Arviso and Benjamin Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Geno Antonio, Jerry Antonio, Benjamin Wilson, Randy Holyan, Easton Holyan, Emery Holyan, Eric Saunders, Willie Antonio Jr. and Arthur Saunders.
The family will announce a reception at the services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Lawrence Chee
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Services for Lawrence Chee, 34, will be announced at a later date.
Chee died Sept. 24, 2011, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born Oct. 22, 1976 in Gallup.
Family and friends will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the Baahaali Chapter House in Breadsprings.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Massaquio Jones
TWIN LAKES — Funeral services for Massaquio Archibald Jones, 11 days old, will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at the Free Trinity Navajo Mission in Tohlakai. The Rev. Gardner will officiate. Burial will be at a private family plot in Tohatchi. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 before the services.
Jones died Sept. 24, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 13, 2011, in Gallup into the Black Streak Wood People Clan born for the Towering House People Clan.
Jones only lived for 11 days but he was a very special baby and was always smiling.
Survivors include his parents Tyi Francisco Jones and Tina Rae Yazzie of Twin Lakes; grandparents Eva and Ervin Yazzie of Twin Lakes, Wanda Francisco of Tohatchi and Michael Jones of Tohlakai.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Kenneth and Kathleen B. Francisco of Tohatchi and Eddie T. and Ella Y. Sherman of Twin Lakes.
Pallbearers will be Pierrce Tuf, Kenworth Jones, Micheal Jones and Ervin Yazzie Sr.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Twin Lakes Chapter House following services.
John ‘Bud’ Vanderwagen
VANDERWAGEN — A memorial service for John Edward “Bud” Vanderwagen, 88, will be in October at the Halona Inn in Zuni.
Vanderwagen died Sept. 9, 2011, at home in Bullhead City, Ariz.
Vanderwagen was born in Rehoboth, the son of Andrew Edward Vanderwagen and Alberdina Brink. He grew up in Zuni part of a large pioneering Dutch family who have lived among and served the Zuni people for several generations as ministers, nurses, shopkeepers and teachers. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Vanderwagen dedicated his life to good, hard work including road and oil field construction, and in the mining, ranching and farming industries. He was a heavy equipment operator and demolitions expert. He loved the contemporary music of his day and often sang along and danced with his daughters to his favorite tunes.
His wish was to be cremated and his ashes scattered over both the Zuni Mountains and the Niabrara River in Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Elaine, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; daughters Lynnette Charapata of Albuquerque and Karen Wood of Kona, Hawaii; sons Brad Lee Wenzel of Farmington and Thor Wenzel of Jacksonville, Fla.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Vanderwagen cousins as well as his closest friend, Jack Bond.
