Thomas Begay

CROWNPOINT — Funeral services for Thomas Lee Begay, 44, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at Gospel Lighthouse Assembly of God, Crownpoint. The Rev. Carols Baki will officiate. Burial will be in private land, Standing Rock-Mahaulen Wells.

Begay died July 14, 2009, in Phoenix. He was born Jan. 16, 1965, into the Mexican People /Salt People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water/Many Goats People Clan.

Begay attended preschool at Hard Rock Mission, k-4 grade at Rockierage, 5-8 grade Tuba City Boarding School, 9-11 grade Richfield, Utah, 12 grade at Tuba City High School and attended 2 years at ITT College, Phoenix. He was employed with carpentry with various construction buildings throughout the reservation and state.

Survivors include his wife, Perlinda Begay of Crownpoint; sons, Tynelle L. Begay of Arizona, T.J. of Arizona, Zachary D. Largo of Crownpoint; daughters, Antoinette Begay, Thomasita Begay, both of Arizona, Glenda Enrico, Preanna M. Largo, both of Crownpoint; brother, Roger Begay of Tuba City; one grandchild.

Begay was preceded in death by his father, Tsegody Begay; mother, Betty Denetsoi; brother, Eugene Begay; sister, Alva B.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
