Goy Begay

HARD ROCK, Ariz. — Funeral services for Goy Begay, 90, will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, at Hard Rock Community Church, Hard Rock, Ariz. Burial will be in Hard Rock Community Cemetery, Hard Rock.

Begay died April 3, 2011, in Winslow. He was born June 12, 1920, in Big Mountain, Ariz.

Begay was employed at Navajo Gospel Mission for 33 years as a pastor before he retired in 1985. He assisted in building the church and other building. After he retired he enjoyed ranching and farming.

Survivors include his daughters, Lillie Whitehair, Lydia Gonzales, Juanita Begay, Darlene Luther; sisters, Amy Goy, Imogene Goy; brothers, Hosteen Goy, Herbert Goy, John Goy, Clarence Goy, Dodge Goy; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Begay was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Begay; sisters, Charlotte Lee, Susan Goy; parents, Bizadi Bekis, Ason Goy.

Stephanie Howes

GALLUP — Services are pending for Stephanie Lynn Howes, 60.

Howes died April 2, 2011 in Wheat Ridge, Colo. She was born Oct. 25, 1950, in Gallup.
Howes was known in Gallup as “Jodie”.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Colleen Lincoln

GANADO/MARIANO LAKE — Funeral services for Colleen Rae Lincoln, 18, will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 8, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Sammy K. Begay will officiate. Burial will be in family plot in Mariano Lake.

Lincoln died Dec. 23, 2010, in Gallup. She was born March 14, 1992, in Gallup, into the Salt People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Lincoln graduated from Ganado High School in May 2010. She was planning to attend NTC, at Crownpoint for automotive mechanic. Her hobbies included listening to music, writing poems, writing song lyrics, spending time with family, taking walks, traveling with family and friends, playing bingo, babysitting her nephews and niece and helping her dad outside. She will be missed.

Survivors include her parents, Thomas H. Lincoln Sr., Emma J. Lincoln; brothers, Tulley Lincoln, Thomas Lincoln III, Thomas Lincoln Jr., Timothy Lincoln, all of Ganado; sisters,, Krystal Mike of Rock Springs, Tyleen Lincoln, Holly Lincoln, Ethelynn Lincoln, Rosie Slivers, all of Ganado, Myrtle Cauy August of Navajo.

Lincoln was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Hope Gray; grandparents, Tulley and Ronnie Lincoln; brother, Tommy Billy; sister, Thomasita Slivers.

Pallbearers will be Kee Mike, Kevin Bitsilly, Ronald Bitsilly Jr., Andrew Shondee, Brent Wauneka, Timothy Lincoln.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mariano Lake Chapter House, following services.

Mabel Medina

GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Mabel Medina, 80, will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, April 8, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. The Rev. Matthew Keller will officiate. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, April 7, at St. Teresa of Avila. Deacon Candidate Dennis Montoya will officiate.

Medina died April 5, 2011, in Grants. She was born Aug. 9, 1930, in Llano.

Survivors include her sons, Arthur Rodarte, Fred Rodarte, Pat Rodarte, Darin Medina; daughters, Ida Ortiz, Beverly Sanchez, Roxanne Lopez; step-daughter, Josephine Esparza; sisters, Gregorita Sanchez, Edna Marquez; brothers, Conrado Tafoya, Reynaldo Tafoya, Anselmo Tafoya; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.

Medina was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Eloy Medina; son, Ronnie Medina; parents, Onesima Tafoya, Pelegrina Martinez; brother, Alfonso Tafoya.

Pallbearers will be Mark Rodarte, Brendan Rodarte, Ronald Ortiz Jr., Angela Epps, Valeriano Lopez, Bonnie Vigil, Darin Medina Jr., Eloy Medina, Gina Stance.

Harry Tolth

COOLIDGE — Services for Harry Tolth, 89, will be 1 p.m., April 8, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Ernest Largo and Rev. Keith Tapaha will officiate. Burial will be in Thoreau Cemetery.

Tolth died April 5, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Crow Mesa, into the Hairy Ones People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Tolth enjoyed ranching, cooking, traditional singing, riding horses, loved live stock and all his grandchildren. He did traditional teaching and spoke Spanish.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Tolth; sons, George H. Tolth of Casamero Lake, Jimmie H. Tolth of Borrego Pass, Amos H. Tolth of Dalton Pass, Larry H. Tolth of Borrego Pass, Leonard Tolth, Raymond Tolth of Borrego Pass; daughters, Marie Tapaha of Casamero Lake, Margaret Tolth of Pine Hill, Jane Begay of Bigwater, Utah, Lucy Day of Casamero Lake, Bernice Tolth of Smith Lake; father, John Tolth; brothers, Jones Tolth, Donald Tolth, Sam Tolth, Lewis Tolth; 74 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Tolth was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Delgarito, Bessie Jameson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; daughters, Alice Tolth, Linda Tolth.

Pallbearers will be George Tolth, Carmine Largo, Darrell Thompson, Rentzel Simpson, McTerry Dakai, Nathaniel Tolth, Brian Lee.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Chapter, following services.
