Emilia DiGiallonardo


GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Emilia DiGiallonardo, 90, will be 11 a.m., May 4, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Rev. Lawrence O’Keefe will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, May 3, at Rollie Mortuary.

DiGiallonardo died April 29, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Cansano, Italy.
DiGiallonardo attempted to emigrate tot he United States as a teenage girl, but illness forced her to remain in Italy until after the end of World War II. Moving to the United States in 1955, she worked as a head seamstress in New York City’s garment district for two decades. She and her husband moved to Gallup in 1975, where she continued her lifelong love of sewing, cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Nick DiGiallonardo; daughter, Amalia Colaianni; brother, Modesto DeSantis; sister, Clotilde DiGiallonardo; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
DiGiallonardo was preceded in death by her husband, Giacomo DiGiallonardo; parents, Lucia DiPomazio, Nicola DeSantis.

Pallbearers will be Joe Colaianni, Justin Wagner, Sammy Chioda, Steve DeAngelis, Nick DeSantis, Dominic Ferrari, Sam Pavlakos, Giovanni Chioda.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Rocket Cafe, 1719 S. Second St., Gallup, following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RMCH Hospice.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Christian Franklin

TWIN LAKES — Services are pending for Christian Laine Franklin, 18.

Franklin died Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Gallup. He was born June 16, 1992, in Gallup, into the Near To Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Francis Jones Sr.

CHINLE — Funeral services for Francis Jones Sr., 69, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, at Chinle Catholic Church. The Rev. Blane will officiate. Burial will be in Chinle Cemetery. Visitation will be at Chinle Catholic Church.

Jones died April 30, 2011, in Phoenix. He was born March 28, 1942, in Chinle, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Blacksheep People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Francis Jones Jr. of Nazlini, Freddie Jones of Chinle, Gerryson of Rock Point, Larrison Jones of Nazlini; brothers, David Jones Sr., Irvin Jones; sister, Ruth Ann Begay; 12 grandchildren.

Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Paul A. Jones, Naglelynnbah Jones; brothers, Allen Jones Sr., Peter Jones, Kayto Jones.


The family will receive relatives and friends at Ruth Ann Begay’s residence, 5.3 miles north of Chinle (Valley Store).

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Tamara Tso

TSAILE — Services for Tamara Lyn Tso, 31, will be at Tsaile Community Church. Robert Tso will officiate. Burial will be in Lukachukai Community Cemetery.

Tso died April 29, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born June 2, 1979, in Fort Defiance, into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Deschine People Clan.

Survivors include her sons, Tyrell Nez, Darian Damon; daughters, Tanya, Carmen, Kershawna; father, David Tso; brothers, Davidson Tso, Alison Bahe; sisters, Doreen Tso, Darlene Tso, Deandra Goldtooth, Christina Tso.

Tso was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Tso; grandparents, Marie Bahe, Jimmy Bahe Sr., Albert Tso, Nellie Tso.

Pallbearers will be Davidson Tso, Alexander Nez.

Silver Creek Motuary is in charge of arrangements.
