Wayne Abeita
THOREAU — Services are pending for Wayne Abeita, 43.
Abeita died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in Thoreau. He was born March 6, 1968, in Gallup.
A donation meeting will be 6 p.m., tonight, May 25, at Thoreau Chapter House. All friends and family encouraged to attend.

John Carrillo
PEORIA, Ariz. — Rosary and Funeral Mass for John J. Carrillo, 80, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 26, at St. Francis de Assisi Catholic Church, 411 N. Second St., Gallup. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup, with Military Honors by the U.S. Veterans Group.
Carrillo died May 18, 2011, in Peoria. He was born June 6, 1930, in Dawson.
Carrillo honorably served his country in the United States Army while in Korea. After retiring from the military, he returned to Gallup, where he lived and worked until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed fishing and spending time visiting with friends and family. Carrillo was a member of the Catholic Church and Veterans Administration.
Survivors include his children, Linda Duarte, Lydia Carrillo, Cindy Carrillo, John J. Carrillo, all of Phoenix, Christopher Carrillo of Surprise; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Carrillo was preceded in death by his parents, Juan J. and Daria C. Carrillo.
Pallbearers will be John Carrillo, George Ramirez, Phil Silva, Ernie Ramirez, James Herrera, David Acosta.

Charles John
CROSS CANYON — Services for Charles John, 42, were 9 a.m., today, May 25, at Mary Mother of Mankind, St. Michaels. Burial was in Kinlichee Community Cemetery.
John died May 23, 2011, in Cross Canyon. He was born Nov. 27, 1968, in Fort Defiance.
John was employed with Boiler Makers’ Local Union #627 for years. He was also a pipe welder, iron worker and loved working in auto mechanics. He enjoyed outdoor activities and loved his family. He will be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Owens; sons, Julius John, Trent John; daughters, Tiyawna, Maegan, Shawnlene, Natasha John; parents, Carlos Sr., Ella Mae John; brothers, Carlton Ronald, Delbert, Darrell, Carlos Jr.; sister, Charlene; grandparents, Clarence Clah, Alice C. Brown of White Cone, James and Irene John of Cross Canyon.
Pallbearers will be Carlton John, Ronald John, Delbert John, Darrell John, Carlos John Jr., Kevin Peshlakai.
The family will receive relatives and friends 3 miles south of Old Cross Canyon Trading Post, Cross Canyon, following services.

Timothy Shirley
CHINLE — Funeral services for Timothy “Speedy” Shirley, 68, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 26, at Fatima Church, Chinle. Burial will be in Chinle Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., at Fatima Church, Chinle.
Shirley died May 21, 2011, in Flagstaff. He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Chinle.
Shirley graduated from Chinle High School. He worked with the Navajo Nation Waterworks for 27 years, worked with Justin Tso’s Horse Rental for 25 years as a tour guide and recieved guide of the year in 1993 and was recognized in the March 1999 edition of Western Horseman. His hobbies included horses and tour guides.
Survivors include his wife, Wilhemina Begay Shirley of Chinle; sons, Derek Q. Shirley, Garrick Shirley, both of Chinle; brothers, Alfred Shirley of Chinle, Frankie Shirley of Lukachukai; sisters, Lynn Cody of Dilcon, Evonne Shirley of Chinle, Lena Shirley of Chinle, Alta Mitchell of Sun Dance, MIldred Kee of Chinle; one grandchild.
Shirley was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Yazzie, Leo Shirley; sister, Marie A. Lee; grandparents, Frank Mitchell, Rose Mitchell, John and Jennie Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Benson Kee, Augustine Sandoval, Ronald Sandoval, Sunny Cody, Floyd Baldwin, Jerry Mitchell, Hadley Tsosie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sunnyside #37, 6 p.m., May 23-25.

Dwayne Teller
CHINLE — Funeral services for Dwayne Lee Teller, 37, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at Teller Residence, Chinle. The Rev. Billie John will officiate. Burial will be in Del Muerto Community Cemetery.
Teller ws born into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Teller graduated from Chinle High School in 1992. His hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, reading the Bible and writing Bible verses. He loved listening to gospel music and being around family members, especially babies and children.
Survivors include his parents, Bennie Sr. and Alice Teller; brothers, Bennie Jr. Teller, Aaron Teller, Delbert Teller, Sheldon Teller; sisters, Anita Harvey, Lisa Ann Tsosie; grandparents, Dorothy S. Tsosie, Irene Teller.
Teller was preceded in death by his grandparents, Toadlena Tsosie, Wilson Teller.
Pallbearers will be Leland Anagal, Kendell Anagal, Jeff John, Brent Teller, Bryan Teller, Fabian Watchman.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Teller’s residence, Del Muerto, following services.
