LeAndro Alonzo

SMITH LAKE — Funeral services for LeAndro B. Alonzo, 30, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, at Trinity Navajo Bible Church, Smith Lake. The Rev. Bobby George will officiate. Burial will be in Smith Lake Community Cemetery.

Alonzo died July 2, 2011, in Little Water. He was born Nov. 17, 1980, in Gallup, into the Sage Brush Hill People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Survivors include his sons, Maricus Alonzo, Osric Alonzo, both of Pinedale; daughter, LeFonté Alonzo of Pinedale; mother, Andrea Begay; grandparents, Frank and Evelyn Begay, Roy Alonzo.

Alonzo was preceded in death by his father, Bob Alonzo; grandmother, Doris Alonzo.

Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Smith Lake Veteran Center, following services.

William Barrows

BLUEWATER — Memorial service for William J. Barrows, 81, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, at the family home, Bluewater. Roy Wagner will officiate.

 Barrows died July 4, 2011. He was born July 15, 1929, in Davenport, Iowa.

Barrows served in the United States Navy. He was the owner/operator of Bill’s Foreign Repair garage in Albuquerque before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Bluewater Acres; children, Debbie Murrietta of Albuquerque, Daniel Barrows of Virginia Beach, Va., Dawn Barrows of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Barrows was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lillian Barrows.

Dexter Dickie

STANDING ROCK — Funeral services for Dexter Dickie, 35, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, at Bible Baptist Shepherd Church, Standing Rock. The Rev. Neil Forester will officiate. Burial will be in family land, Standing Rock.

Dickie died June 29, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. He was born Aug. 3, 1975, in Gallup, into the Meadow People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Dickie attended Crownpoint High School and received his GED in Texas. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, horse back riding, drawing, listening to rap music and writing letters to family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Delbra D. Trillo of Dallas, Texas, Jerry Thompson of Dalton Pass; brothers, Michael Trillo Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Myron Thompson of Pinedale, Nathaniel Thompson of Pinedale; sisters, Lena Trillo of Washington State, Felicia Thompson of Pinedale, Jerrilynn Thompson of Thoreau; grandparents, adopted grandfather, Tom B. James of Standing Rock.

Dickie was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremiah Thompson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Juanita Dickie, Chee Bobby Thompson, Lucy L. Thompson; adopted grandmother, Marlene James.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Manuelito, Adrian Largo, Bill Malott, Feliciano Manuelito, Dion Jimie Morgan, Lester Sky.

Marie Toledo

WHITEHORSE — Funeral services for Marie Jake Toledo, 74, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Evangelist Mike Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Christian Cemetery.

Toledo died July 1, 2011, in Whitehorse Lake. She was born June 10, 1938, in Whitehorse Lake, into the Zuni People Clan for the Mountain Cove People Clan.

Toledo was a cook and taught arts and crafts at Pueblo Pintado Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, her cat and dog. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, going to church, herding sheep, eating and talking.

Survivors include her husband, Max Toledo; sons, Eddie Jones of Whitehorse Lake, Randy Jones of Whitehorse Lake, Ray Jones Sr. of Pueblo Pintado, Bernie Toledo of Whitehorse Lake, Shane Toledo of Albuquerque; daughters, Evelyn Toledo of Albuquerque, Shirley Toledo of Whitehorse Lake, Loretta T. Castillo of Whitehorse, Pearl Jean Toledo of Albuquerque; brother, James Jake Sr. of Whitehorse Lake; sisters, Pearl Jake of Whitehorse Lake, Christine Gonzales of Worchester, N.Y., Eva Tenorio of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Toledo was preceded in death by her parents, Jones Jake, Beth Jake; brother, Eugene Jake; sister, Elenor Zahgotah.

Pallbearers will be Curtis D. Arviso, Robert B. Castillo Jr., Roy Jones, Ryan Jones, Eileen M. Toledo, Christian G. Yazzie.

Elton Woody

GALLUP — Services for Elton Woody, 99, will be 10 a.m., July 9, at Rehoboth Christian Reform Church. The Rev. Boyd Garnanez will officiate. Burial will be in family land, Coyote Canyon.

Woody died July 7, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Dec. 12, 1911, in Black Mesa, into the Salt People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Woody attended Chinle Boarding School, Fort Apache and graduated from Albuquerque Indian School. He was a member of the Church Rock Christian Reform Church. He retired from the Fort Wingate Army Depot and was self-employed as a commercial painter. Woody was a foster grandparent with the Navajo tribe at Coyote Canyon and a senior companion. He was board vice president of the Coyote Canyon Rehab Center from 1981 up until his death.

Survivors include his sons, Leonard Sylvan of Church Rock; daughters, Anna Mae Garnanez of Gamerco, Dorothy Pardo, Irma Woody, both of Albuquerque, Doris Woody of Gallup, Roberta Morscher of Melbourne, Ky.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Woody was preceded in death by his wife, Johle M. Woody; parents, Etsitty Begay, Woody Bema Begay; sons, Kenneth Woody, Paul W. Johnson; daughters, Betty Ann Woody, Ella Mae Woody; brothers, Etsitty Benally, William Woody, Benjamin Woody, Tony Woody, Edward Woody, Bob Woody; sisters, Pauline Dick, Mary Francis Joe.

Pallbearers will be Carlin Begay, O’Brian Mitchell, Uriel Tilden, Nathan Johnson, Robert Esparza, Jameson Mitchell.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Coyote Canyon Chapter, following services.
