Abraham Garcia
GLENDALE — A rosary for Abraham Garcia, 76, will be Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 415 E. Green. Funeral services will follow.
Garcia died July 26, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 7, 1934.
Garcia enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Viola; children Germaine, Rocky, Sandra, and Steve, all of Gallup; sisters Esther Gabaldon and Edwina Lucero; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents Cadelario Garcia and Beatrice Lucero and brothers Conrad and Lalo Garcia.
Francis Slinkey
GALLUP — Funeral services for Francis Michael Slinkey, 27, will be Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Jerome Sandoval will officiate. Burial will be in the Sheepsprings family plot.
Slinkey died July 31, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 1, 1983, in Gallup. Slinkey attended school at Newcomb High School and Wingate High School.
Survivors include his son Michael Slinkey, of Gallup; daughter Mary Jane Slinkey, of Gallup; mother Beverly Cheschilly, of Sheepsprings; sisters Venissa Cheschilly, of Gallup, and Jenissa Cheschilly, of Sheepsprings; and grandparents Richard and Rose Cheschilly, both of Naschitti.
Slinkey was preceded in death by his father Michael F. Slinkey.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Bitsie, Craig Bitsilly, Paul Byrnm, Anthony Cheschilly, Alex James and Antonio Scott.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Naschitti Chapter House.
Habah Gorman Tsosie
FLATROCK, Ariz. — Funeral services for Habah Gorman Tsosie, 80, will be Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Nazlini Church of Nazarene in Nazlini, Ariz. Justin Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Flatrock, Ariz. Visitation will be at the Nazlini Church of the Nazarene at 9 a.m.
Tsosie was born into the Bitterwater Clan born for the Start of the Red Streak People Clan.
Tsosie was a wife, homemaker and raised eight children. She loved to weave rugs, herd sheep, sew and travel.
Survivors include her husband Mike Tsosie; son Godfrey Tsosie; parents Ason Leupp Tsu and Hosteen Gishie Begay; brother Howard Billy Gorman; grandparents Howard A. Gorman Sr. and G. Gorman; and 2 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gilford Tsosie, Mason Tsosie, Scott Tsosie, Thomas Tsosie, Raymond Crank and Fravis Gorman.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Nazlini Chapter House. Donations may be made to the family residence in Flatrock.
