Vivian ‘Vee’ Watson
ST. MICHAEL, Ariz. — Funeral services for Vivian “Vee” Watson, 57, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 at Mary Mother of Mankind. Father Patrick Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., before the services.
Watson died Sept. 20, 2011 in Gallup. She was born April 22, 1954 in winslow into the Salt People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Watson enjoyed knitting blankets and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked with the WRUSD #8 for six years and Bureau of Indian Affairs for 12 years.
Survivors include her daughters Andrea N. Hale, Esther L. Ranger and Sophia M. Watson; mother Mary E. Towne; brothers Darrell Towne; sisters Shirley Lee, Sher Gransen, Lorena Portenier, Bernice Goss and four grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph H. Towne; grandparents Joe Walker and Charlotte D. Walker; brother Bobbie Towne and sisters Esther Towne and Rena Towne.
Pallbearers will be Darrel Towne, Sammy Lee Jr., Severon Lee, Christopher Granson, Johnny Curley, Leo Curley and Jasper Walker.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Michaels Chapter at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
Beatrice Long
TWIN LAKES — Funeral services for Beatirce Long, 51, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at the Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Pastor Mark Chandler will officiate. Burial will be at Gallup City Cemetery.
Long died Sept. 17, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born Aug. 21, 1960 in Los Angeles, Calif. into the Water Edge People Clan for the Water Flows Together People Clan.
Long finished her education at Tohatchi Elementary and Tohatchi High School. She worked at Twin Lakes Elementary for 22 years as a secretary. Long enjoyed reading and watching NFL football games, especially the Steelers.
Survivors include her mother Annie Dolfin; brothers Victor Long, John Dolfin Jr., Jonathan Dolfin and Jason Dolfin; sisters Brenda Long and Genevieve Dolfin and grandmother Lillie A. Brown
. Long was preceded in death by her father Stuart Long; brother Virgil Long and grandparents Alex Detsoi, Wallace Long Sr. and Annie Long.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Long, Jefferson Brown, Brent Detsoi, Amos Detsoi, Otis Detsoi and Wilmer Detsoi.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Elementary after services.
Elvira Cornejo de Ramirez
GAMERCO — A memorial service for Elvira Cornejo de Ramirez, 81, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at Rollie Mortuary. Enrique Cisneros will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Ramirez died Sept. 20, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 6. 1930 in Sonora, Mexico.
Ramirez was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother to everyone she knew.
Survivors include her husband Silviano Ramirez; sons Rafael C. Ramirez of Farmington and Heriberto Ramirez of Juarez, Mexico; daughters Rosa Andujo of Farmington, Manuela Flores of Gallup, Sylvia Ramirez-Schmitt of Gallup and Graciela Cisneros of Sonora Mexico; brothers Pedro Cornejo of Anthony; sisters Helena Ochoa of Chihuahua, Mexico and Socorro Ochoa of Buenaventura, Mexico; 27 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Jesus Ramirez; parents Pedro Cornejo and Leogarda Medina Cornejo; brothers Jesus Cornejo and Luis Cornejo and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Rafael C. Ramirez, Gilbert Andujo, Aaron Candelaria, Alex Flores, Edgar Flores, and Alfred Flores.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 802 Cascade in Gamerco following services.
